Rumored Rumor: Alex Pereira to Face Carlos Ulberg for Light Heavyweight Title on January 24

If that fight was actually in the works I don't think they'd risk Alex taking another fight in the meantime. It's a fight, anything could happen.
I think the White House card is happening, it's just they'll put him on the first national CBS card in January in hopes of doing 10 plus million views.

Good. Let the boys play.

Brother, I know what Jon did and fuck him. The obvious thing to do was just strip Jon and have Tom fight the next best guy for the vacant belt. Not cater to Jon while he's hiding under the canvas and stalling so he can get the days as champ record or whatever he got, then finally strip him, and award the next best guy the actual belt via email.

It's just fucking dumb.

I never claimed Jones is still the HW champ. I said he's as much the champ as anyone else in the division. I never said anything like that Jon should defend against Alex.

And yeh, Tom competed, but he didn't complete the match against Gane. I never said it was Tom's fault, but that's how it happened in the end.

And bro, Tom absolutely cared about fighting Jon. He wanted that fight for his legacy (who wouldn't?). Tom talked about that a lot at first. He only stopped with that stuff when it became blatantly clear that Jon was never going to come out from under the canvas to fight him.

It was hard to strip Jon considering the entire year he was saying that he will take the fight if the numbers are right. Jon agreed to take the fight and had a deal in place and then Jon backed out last minute. He fought in Nov 24 and the fight was aimed for Nov 25 with Aspinal. Jon backed out and they said give up the belt and he did. So what you wanted to happen, did happen.

And that is how it goes, when you have an interim champ he gets promoted to HW champ. When you have a guy stripped and there is no interim, then they do the vacant belt. So out with this "email the belt" BS, Tom was the champ.

You said that Jon is more of the HW champ the anyone in the division and that he should fight Perreira at the White House for the HW belt. That's a ridiculous comment to make considering Aspinal in the HW champ.

Tom just wanted to fight for the HW belt and said that many times. He said that if Jon doesn't want to fight him, he will be happy to fight anyone else.

So just to be clear, Tom is the HW champ and that's it.

Amazing. Rooting for Alex. Ulberg is a legit striker when you push him.

He can fight Jones after in the white house.

I know how it goes, brother, I'm saying that it's fucking stupid.

I never said he was more of a champ than Aspinal. I said he's as much the champ if not more. I didn't say that he should fight Alex for the belt, though I have said in other threads jokingly that he should if Tom can't recover in time or whatever.

And why would it be so bad if they did give the belt back to Jon? Letting him defend against Aspinal would make more sense than anything else right now. Won't happen of course unless it's at the white house, because Jon ain't stepping in there with Tom for normal money. He never was.

Tom 100% wanted to take the belt from Jon. You know this, bro. Come on now. That would have been a huge win for him. He only gave up on that and just focused on the belt when it became clear that Jon was just planning on not fighting and instead just spending the next few years riling Tom and everyone else up on twitter to sell seminars and other appearances. This was Jon's plan before he even signed up to fight Stipe.

If what Tom's dad is saying then we're going to need a new champ anyway. Supposedly Tom is still blind.

Really interested in Pereira vs Ulberg. Keep 205 moving, fuck Jon. He isn't gonna stall two divisions at the same time.

I like Ulberg but I don’t think he’s on Alex’s level. Fresh matchup nonetheless and anything can happen

What a dud of a fight.

Izzy’s waterboy is really gonna get a title shot for fighting absolutely nobody.
9 fight win streak with 6 finishes, 2 bonuses, and 4 ranked opponents, including a former champ in Jan. At some point, something's gotta give.

Aside from beating Jan, it's a bit hard to beat a "somebody" in the division when Hill, Rountree, and Jiri spent the last 2 years getting questionable title shots then going into a round robin tournament with each other for second place.

Its not correct information...there is other fight in making for UFC 325 in Sydney and Pereira is not part of it, but Ulberg is... This is most likely another attempt of Ulberg to do anything possible to dont fight fighter which he already once ducked. We will see how this plays out.

BTW everyone here cheering this fake injury duck clown "getting" title shot is clown aswell.
Try English next time. All the blood rushing to your boner for Jiri is stealing the blood from your brain and making you type like that

Alex is the fucking man. He is the most active champion and does everything in his power to make for exciting fights. There is very little doubt your getting your moneys worth if Perreira is on the card…he’s cut from a different cloth. Other champs need to pay attention to how to make the fucking most of your last years because he is making HL clips and cashing high end checks 👏🏽

He is and so was Adesanya during his prime. They come from kicmboxing/muay thai and in that sport everybody fights everybody multiple times. In MMA there are not many fighters that fight more than 2 times a year. Especially when they are afraid of losing their rank to someone else, getting cut, or upcoming contract negotiations. Everybody is picky. In K1 fighters would fight eachother several times a year in some cases. Sometimes they would fight other fighters in a tournament and also in singe matches. What Poatan and Adesanya are doing in the UFC is quite normal. Just fight everybody and regularly while your are still able
