Rogan criticizes LionFight for matching up MMA fighter w/ 0 pro Muay Thai fights against MT Champion

The difference is the level of the guy crossing over. Conor is the 155 champ and former 145 champ in the biggest organization in mma and extremely high level in mma. This Hebeisen guy is a can in his own sport with a record of 7-4 and fought against an extremely high level MT fighter with over 200 fights

Edit:

Never mind I thought this was a MMA fight.

The difference in skill between these 2 fighters and the difference in skill between conor/mayweather. Is not that much contrasted. Youre reaching. Conor is a good mma fighter. Floyd is an all
Time great. That guy is a mediocre mma fighter and the MT fighter is good, but not an all Time great. If anything the contras between floyd and conor is greater

McGregor vs Mayweather is a bigger mismatch in my opinion.

At least the more experienced MMA fighter could have conceivably taken him down and smashed him.

Pure Thai fighters aren't exactly notorious for being on their bike and difficult to take down.

McGregor realistically has no Chance not even a punches chance.

umm noo, since Mayweather fight vs Conor will be in a boxing ring, what is Conor record in professional boxing. 0-0 Stop dickriding the ufc

ps. If that was the case, Rondo is consider a top level combat sport athlete, they should put her in the boxing ring against the best female boxer, base on your logic.
Holy shit that's nice

As I already said, it is all about the difference between the skill level of the fighter crossing over. At his weight class Conor is one of, if not the best fighter in mma. Heibesen is 7-4, a relative novice even by mma standards and with a record like that against almost all no-name opponents he is not even close to gatekeepr or even prospect level.

Yet Malaipet who is a similar calibre at Muay Thai to Lerdsilla went 3-4 in MMA and lost to guys with worse records than 7-4.

I didn't see the whole fight so I don't know if this guy was getting take downs stuffed or was knocked out immediately but if he was dumb enough to stand with Lerdsilla then he got what he deserved.

Conor (or any current MMA fighter) will/would lose that matchup, but he will at least be able to protect himself. Not the case in the other fight.

Wot?

He could easily protect himself if Lerdsilla is on his back.

People are killed every year in boxing. McGregor has never sparred with anyone with the handspeed of Mayweather. He won't be able to see the punches coming. There will be no takedowns and no way out.

It was not a mma fight. This has been pointed out multiple times

But goshdarnit, Joe would love to see TRT Vitor one last time.

nailed it

this was a top level combat sport athlete vs a relative novice..... Floyd vs Conor is 2 top level combat sport athletes fighting one another, its not even comparable

Conor is going to look just as helpless in a boxing match.

that fucking kick looked like a piston fired at 7000 rpm

BUT THEY HAD CM PUNK CO MAIN AN EVENT WITH ZERO FIGHTS

Rogan a fuck tard as usual.
lmao

not even comparable

you quoted me in another thread and sounded like a dumbass

confirmed

Malaipet is nowhere near Lerdsila in terms of Muay Thai pedigree.

And this was an MT fight, so he had no choice but to stand with Lerdsila.

People comparing Conor/Floyd to this are mistaken. Yes, Conor will most likely lose to Floyd in a shutout but his strength is his hands and he's at the top of his own sport. This guy was nobody in MMA and got fed to a lion (no pun intended).

People have said that Conor might have a hard time getting licensed to box Floyd. You think a 0-0 guy in MT gets licensed against a guy with 180+ wins if it wasn't in an Indian casino?

I kind of agree with Rogan. I think Conor would get lit up, but it wouldn't be nearly as brutal.
you know its more dangerous to get lots of punches to the body and head and not getting totally KOed than getting koed with a single head kick?
statistics prove it, more pro boxers die or suffer from dementia than any pro muay thai or MMA fighter

The difference is that no one will get hurt fighting Floyd.

the last time a loudmouthed ginger from the British Isles faced TBE . And Hatton is 100x the boxer Conor is. Floyd has KO power, but he prioritizes defense so he doesn't overcommit to power shots. Such a conservative approach will not be necessary against an 0-0 opponent, and he will EASILY get a KO within 6 rounds.

Those stats are for taking years of abuse. I would imagine that if we are just talking 1 fight, it's better to not get brutally KO'd.

I don't think we'll ever truly know. All the talk has been a facade, on the part of team McGay.

I agree, I personally don't think the fight will ever happen. Easy for the UFC to say they are close to the Conor side being done, but no way Mayweather lets the UFC dictate who gets paid how much.

Put Barboza in there and this won't happen.
