They are closing over 1000 stores in the next 3 months. This will be now over 1700 GameStop's in the last 3 years, in the US, gone.

It's time to join Blockbuster, Toys R Us and Circuit City in the big avenue in the sky.

I rarely shopped at GameStop but it was always nice to go in at the mall when you have free time.

I rarely shopped at GameStop but it was always nice to wonder in at the mall when you have free time.

What are you wondering while you wander through the mall?

I discovered a lotta great games, some of my all time favorites, by going to Game Stop and digging through the used last gen games after a new gen console is released
Gonna miss that treasure hunt in much the same way that I miss going to record stores and stumbling upon awesome new music
Kids today will never understand the thrill of the chase and thats why theyre all such assholes

Making disc-less console versions must be a huge hit to them.

Digital is killing them, period. Just think of all the deals they have to compete with. Every single week there are deals on just the MS and Sony store, let alone all the other digital outlets. The retailers get undercut at every turn. I don't see physical copies of games being a viable investment for them for much longer.

Electronics Boutique masterrace checking in. I don't shop at the Gamestop bullshit

now you have more time to check out the muff at the food court

I guess low balling people trading in their games still doesn't pay the bills completely

That's so true. It was the beginning of the end for them, when they had to start depending on used sales with stupid markups, alienating their customers. You get treated like shit on both sides. That turned so many people off.

I used to go there a lot back in the day, but honestly fuck em. Their pricing model was always absurd. I'm sure the move to digital just crushed them. Why by used copies for like a $2 discount when you can get digital copies for far less?

When I went to get the quest two my GameStop was out and only got two shipped to them... target had them. No point in them

I've got to think for people selling used games it's easy to sell them on eBay for craigslist or someplace like that and actually get some value out of them too.
