RIP GameStop

People were still buying hard copies of games?

Time to get out of the stone age

Fuck Best Buy, they are some weak ass sauce. If I have to go in person I much prefer the massive selection at Frye's Electronics.

Fry's sucks now. The owner is bleeding it dry to feed his other businesses They won't restock and often stock the shelves with consignments. Fry's used to be awesome.

Neostar Retail Group + Funco Land + Babbage's = Land of the Lost. Len was the only one that made money.

I like Gamestop, but the fuckhead that runs the one by me makes me not want to give them business.

When I bought my Xbox one from there I told him that EA Access was the reason I decided to go with the XB1 over the PS4. He then tried to sell me all these sports games that are included with the EA Access service.

I signed for the Power up Rewards membership (which is worth it when you make a big purchase) which includes a year subscription to the magazine Game informer. He then tried telling me that most people prefer the digtal version of the subscription vs the physical copy. Which is bullshit, it's just cheaper to distribute so he lied to try and push it.

I also bought a copy of Rocksmith from there and I thought it sucked, so I wanted to return it. He said that they don't do refunds on Rocksmith because there is no way to test if the cable is good without a guitar. Come to find out it's actually illegal for a store not to accept returns with in a 30 day period. He told me to try and sell it on Craigslist.

Fry's Electronics is THE GOAT.

Lmao, I thought Gamestop was already dead. I think the second to last time I was in one was turning in a buncha PS2 games, they gave me like a nickel and a bag of shit

Good riddance.

I've seen too many stories of former Gamestop employees to know that it was one of the absolute worst places you can work.

F them. They lost my order purchase of Arkham knight. They wouldnt even give me a refund.

There's still a lot of old school mom and pop game stores around, some will repair broken items like games and controllers. dvd buybacks also buys and sell game disks and consoles from all systems dating back to the nintendo ds, neo geo, 3do, etc.

I still enjoy buying the physical game. Not that I ever bought anything from them. It was still from Best Buy or Amazon.
