RIP GameStop

Makes sense they're taking it mainly online. Who wants to touch a bunch of games that everyone else has touched when you can order it online after looking at youtube trailers? Pointless having a bricks and mortar place you have to pay rent for.

They got a bad rep for paying so little on trade ins. I personally know a few people that stopped shopping there for this exact reason. Greed can make you a lot of money but sometimes can be your undoing.

Electronics Boutique masterrace checking in. I don't shop at the Gamestop bullshit

Holy shit. Do those still exist? I used to love going there.

They have 6 gamestop within a 8 mile radius and I'm no Where near a big city. Had no idea how popular they were until my son got into gaming. They def need to close a large amount.

I'll be there to piss on the rubble when the last gamestop is finally torn down by used machinery.

I used to go there a lot back in the day, but honestly fuck em. Their pricing model was always absurd. I'm sure the move to digital just crushed them. Why by used copies for like a $2 discount when you can get digital copies for far less?

Go to flea markets and get DVDs for $1 of the same movie

I knew that someday this guy would have the last laugh.

This was the moment the first Gamestop fell. They have been falling like dominos ever since.

I bought a couple of physical Switch games but everything else I get digital when it goes on deep sales.

Damn, now where will awkward teenage boys work to get discounts on games and offend transgender people?

I guess low balling people trading in their games still doesn't pay the bills completely

Hey, limme alone, asshole!
Or I'll fucking trash yo store AND yo house!

Good. Fuck them low balling dick heads.

Gamestop has been dying for close to a decade. What kept them in business this long is how far behind consoles were on digital distribution. Moment Sony/Microsoft consoles moved away from running on the disk to installation their fate was sealed. Rebranding to a mom and pop style comic book store doesnt work for a corporate entity. They even attempted to create esport viewing and training centers; which could have worked if done five years earlier.

They are closing over 1000 stores in the next 3 months. This will be now over 1700 GameStop's in the last 3 years, in the US, gone.

It's time to join Blockbuster, Toys R Us and Circuit City in the big avenue in the sky.

I rarely shopped at GameStop but it was always nice to go in at the mall when you have free time.

Rest in piss

I love it

Movie theaters gouging food prices
GameStop lowballing

But most of all, the milk industry. They openly talked about how they could lobby congress to not have "high fructose corn syrup" on it's labels.

To hell with all of them

Physical media in general is a dying industry (apart from vinyl) it's no surprise that it's going.

That's what i was about to say. It's an endangered species and destined to go extinct

With internet connections getting faster and faster , digital services , cloud gaming , streaming etc it's just a matter of time before the only placve you'ill find physical media is in a museum. It does sucks for business like Gamestop who have been around since forever but...it is what it is i guess

Making disc-less console versions must be a huge hit to them.
You'd think by cutting out a middleman like that the price of video games would go down.. New releases are like $80 and you still have to pay extra to unlock parts of the game lol.
