Media Ring Magazine Top Pound for Pound List

Because I'm trying to have a serious conversation on a boxing forum. Objectively speaking Spence does NOT belong in front of ANYONE whose won legitimate championships across multiple weight clases.

While Spence has looked good in his fights - and clearly vulnerable at times - he's actively avoided the 2 best WWs his entire career in Thurman and Crawford...while CLAMORING to fight OLD AF Manny.

It's disappointing that so many boxing fans blindly accept Spence as a PFP talent when he hasnt proved it yet, still. And he's 32 years old now ? Jermall Charlo all over again
You aren't trying to have a serious conversation at all. Stop that shit.

If “what have you done for me lately” plays into this (which I think it should), Jermell going undisputed at 154 with a convincing win over Castano should put him in the top 10 conversation.

Agreed

If Crawford wants to be considered no.1 P4P, he needs to move up to 154 and fight Charlo.

It's an embarrassment for the sport that he's being rated so high. His best win is Shawn Porter!

Leave Bud alone, he's just a young kid trying to make a name for himself and you guys aren't giving him a fair shake.
Good point. He's only been a pro for... 14 years? That's not that long! Just nearly a decade and a half and roughly 40 professional fights later. His brand is only just being built.

A resume full of B and C level opponents isn't a good thing when discussing P4P #1. It might as well be filler opposition. Most people look at A level opponents and dip into B if necessary. There's no point in bothering with C level because they're by definition average or mediocre opposition. You actually think Porter is a better win than say AJ, Briedis, or Gassiev? You won't find many that agree with you on that one especially over the first two I just named. Remember these are The Ring's rankings. They have an entire panel dedicated to debating this topic. By disagreeing with me you're disagreeing with them. That is fine because it's subjective but only to a point and within reason. I keep asking you for a list of Crawford's best wins and you've named Porter. That's it. I mentioned Postol earlier. Who else is on there? What's funny is that for years I actually defended Crawford on here. I was the only reg to bother. I stopped defending him long ago because fans lost interest in him. I know I did (until he fights Spence). Crawford did fight the best at 135 and 140 but, again, when you look at the names it's underwhelming. I rattled off an entire list of them previously and none of them were particularly notable nor are they still relevant today (outside of Porter who just retired).

AJ is definitely NOT A level.

Crawford also passes the eye test more than any other fighter. He's never needed favored judging and has been dominant in every single contest.

Like honestly you make non stop homosexual references out of nowhere whenever anybody talks about boxing.... Grow the fk up pervert. It says more about you than anyone you are trying to insult.
No, Crawford beating up on lesser and smaller names at weight classes nobody cared about is not better than Spence beating bigger names at higher weight classes.
Crawford is not small for 147. Stop the lies.
Look at all the killers less than 147 currently. Crawford missed all those...hmmm

So when Crawford stomps out Spence what will you say then ?

The fight can go either way. You have no idea whats going to happen. Its just a guess.
I would enjoy the fight and give props to the winner either way. I will also hope the winner fights Boots before going to 154.
I won't be stuck on some imaginary anti top rank or anti pbc agenda that you clearly can't get pass.
I think Crawford will probably be the odds favorite slightly but its a pickem fight.

Well if the odds are even I'll be getting all over Crawford that's for sure

He is an A level fighter. AJ was the second best heavyweight in the world when Usyk beat him and previously was rated #1. His resume at heavyweight is deeper than the rest. The Ruiz loss was embarrassing but this is heavyweight and it was immediately avenged. The two previous heavyweight kings, Wlad and Lewis, also got stopped/KO'd by fighters that had absolutely no business doing that to them. Didn't they? And guess what? Lewis is still the best heavyweight of the last 30 years and Wlad was just inducted as a first ballot hall of famer. As for Crawford's domination it's a lot easier to dominate lesser opposition. I like his wins over Porter and Postol, the latter of which was recorded forever ago, but let's not get carried away. Neither is a signature win.

I dont know if Crawford's chin has been tested like Spence's has. Also, not sure if Crawford has faced a puncher as big or as strong as Spence.
Spence gets caught a lot for an elite fighter and takes risks that can get him wobbled.
I think there will be Hagler Hearn moments in this one.
Im still rooting for Spence .
