Rewatched Jones vs DC

DC has to get after it very early on this time...

DC has the world to show, Jones just has to show up and do what he did last time at the very least.

Agreed. It's not like their first fight was completely one sided. If DC could have avoided the body shots, it would have been a different story. Going into third round it was tied 1-1

Cormier will be humiliated. Jones will crush his hips, mount him and strangle him like a boa constrictor.

If DC didnt lose steam after round 3 he would have beaten Jones handily. I felt Jones one rounds 4 and 5 and thats it, round 1 being a toss up.

Neither guy ever seemed like they were in trouble. Jones definitely won. It wasn't a landslide and I'll definitely watch the next fight

You're right. The first fight was very competitive, and D.C. was still fairly new as a martial artist. I'm guessing he's made more improvements since then than Jones has. Jones has bulked up, but that seems to hurt as much as it helps fighters, honestly.
did you just start watching mma last year? dc has been around since 2010 in SF and local stuff before then. Hes been around a long time bud.

any idiot who says jones will steamroll cormier, well, it`s just that an idiot

this could go either way, jones is hungry after being suspended, DC beat one slaughter machine in rumble and one heavy hitter in gustaffson

guess I`am leaning more in dc`s favour
What happens to those "idiots" if Jones does steamroll Cormier?

I feel Jones will get the late round submission after controlling most of the early rounds. DC is a tough competitor and will give Jones a good fight, I just don't see an aspect where he is better. I think DC tires as the fight goes and Jones chokes him out late in the 4th or 5th.

1) If first fight was a 3 rounder, Cormier could have won that fight. Cormier arguably won 2 out of first 3 rounds
2) DC wasn't in wars after Jones, only war was Gus fight and he beat Gus more decisively than Jones, AJ fight was early knockdown but after that Cormier won pretty easily
3) Jones was the better wrestler ONLY because Cormier gassed out in later rounds. And his first takedown was because he caught DC's kick

cormier won one round and the other four rounds Jones completely tooled him in every aspect of mma. dc never had a chance to finish or do any real damage. Bones' wrestling was on another level that fight. What I love about Bones is that he will beat you where you are best like a true champion. Like fedor before him, bones will dominate your best asset to prove he is the best. He is the best fighter we have ever seen.
I think I remember giving Jones a 3-2 win. But I haven't rewatched that fight in a long time. Seemed to be very competitive with some close rounds. In no way did I see Jones tooling him in 4 rounds.
And Jones got takedowns but couldn't do anything g with them. DC popped right back up if I recall correctly.

its a good upset pick on DC i think - if you hvaen't noticed, people love that alpha confidence, they blindly buy into it - jones has it too - but he hasnt[ fought in a long time, has some potentially continuing personal issues and DC has been winning and fighting ever since - these are good times to pick upsets, in my opinion - havent decided yet, but i have cormier as almost even money to jones

well DC is getting older & Jones is prob not training on Cocaine, so I'd say Jonny is gonna beat him more severely this time.

Jones didn't do shit in the first fight.

Are you all high.

He won on points... BARELY

Fightmetric.com for the naysayers.

About the best thing that DC can say is that he did better against Jones than most everyone else except Gus.

I haven't seen the fight since it was live but I recall DC putting up a strong couple of rounds and then Jones just pulling away.

Personally, I think Jones will do much better this time around. Might even finish DC. Nevertheless, at 205, the interesting fights for Jones are DC and Gus. So I am looking forward to it

I am aware of that. He fought JBJ in January of 2015, which was a little over five years since his first MMA bout. Five years in MMA is still pretty new.

By January of 2015, Jones had been fighting MMA for about seven years, and he'd been fighting top comp for longer than DC.

I'm just saying that DC has probably improved more than Jones in the interim, especially given Jones' issues and lack of fighting experience recently while DC was out fighting top guys like Rumble and Gus Davidson.

the added muscle is gonna drain jones without question.he`s messed with the balance of his muscle ratios `n shit. much like mcgreggor did
