any idiot who says jones will steamroll cormier, well, it`s just that an idiot

this could go either way, jones is hungry after being suspended, DC beat one slaughter machine in rumble and one heavy hitter in gustaffson

guess I`am leaning more in dc`s favour
 
It'll be interesting to see if DC's mental game will be the deciding factor this time, now that he has lost to Jones already. During their first fight before gassing (due to bodyshots like DC himself mentioned) he did look sharp.
 
He's getting older by the day. If it was a few year ago, maybe. I'm having a hard time seeing it now.
 
Thank goodness that there's finally a thread that isn't going over what happened with McGregor / Diaz.
Anyway, Jones vs. Cormier was a really strange fight in the sense that the fight played out in the exact opposite way that I expected. Cormier did really well in the striking / clinch and it was Jones who dominated the wrestling. Anyway, Cormier is getting older and has been in a lot of wars since then, so him getting steamrolled by Jones would be less surprising than the other way around.
 
This, I don't know why people think Jones walked through DC, it was a competitive fight, JJ on a good night doesn't beat DC on a great night.
 
I remember everyone I watched the fight with say they needed a rematch because the fight was close.

DC was tagging Jones with hella uppercuts in the clinch in rounds 2&3. I haven't watched the fight since, but I remember rooting for Jon and being scared af in those rounds.
 
I know Jones is favored to win and by fans. But DC has the Incredulous edge and will retain.
Shoop that Incredulous Cormier bless.
 
DC did nothing significant in the first fight that we can point to and go "that's how he will be Jones." I'm confident it will go pretty much the same way as the first or a late finish by Jones.
 
cormier won one round and the other four rounds Jones completely tooled him in every aspect of mma. dc never had a chance to finish or do any real damage. Bones' wrestling was on another level that fight. What I love about Bones is that he will beat you where you are best like a true champion. Like fedor before him, bones will dominate your best asset to prove he is the best. He is the best fighter we have ever seen.
 
Why would you be leaning towards DC. He may have looked better in his last 2 fights but thats because he wasnt fighting jones. Motivated bones is going to sub him or ground and pound him this time . I like DC but hes in for a tough night.
 
Jones is much stronger now and he was muscling Cormier around in that fight already without being able to deadlift a car.
He's Überjones now. I think he's going to beat him again.

DC fought a great fight the first time around, and I'm sure he'll do so again.

However, he has one major problem: he closes the distance by walking towards his opponent, and in doing so, right into their straight kicks. This is how Jon beat him the first time.

DC is a nightmare come true when he latches onto your neck. What costs him the fight is what punishment he has to take to get there.
 
You're right. The first fight was very competitive, and D.C. was still fairly new as a martial artist. I'm guessing he's made more improvements since then than Jones has. Jones has bulked up, but that seems to hurt as much as it helps fighters, honestly.
 
Jones TKO round 1.

Jones is better everywhere. Even wrestling.
