Reddit has been going downhill for a while and has essentially become a liberal echo chamber. It's a shame. There used to be plenty of subreddits for all different ideologies as well as other subreddits for debate. The_Donald had a massive following and was a big part of Trump getting elected in 2016. Ever since then, reddit altered algorithms to hide it from the front page and targeted them any way they could. People were saying for years Reddit would find a way to ban it just before the next election and that's exactly what happened.
