Schools are transitioning kids without parental consent (or even knowledge) in some cases.
Whether I agree with the parents or not, it is NOT the state's job to provide moral guidance to kids or push their moral positions on kids.
This has become like a religion- educators think they're justified in leaving parents out of the loop because they are "saving the souls of children" from the bad beliefs of parents, which is absolutely bonkers; to say that isn't their place is a huge understatement. Like they are the anointed ones- the saviors of all children, and only their beliefs matter.
US kids' school performance in major subjects has decreased consistently since 2016, well before Covid (which everyone likes to blame for kids doing bad in school). Getting politics out of schools would be a good place to start improving that, focusing on fundamentals.
