i thought it was a pretty darn good OFF last night
good performance and KO by the japanese kickboxer.
shocking kicking by the Algerian dude, didn't seem to offer much more but damn, the dude's got legs
I wasn't too surprised Duangsompong got KO'd by Dem Hands of Dat Dagestani. Like i have said before he's like a crap version of Ferrari, hasn't got the same footwork or the sting in his kicks to keep the fight at long range so he will have the same vulnerabilities as Ferrari against punchers but they will be exposed more often
Raeksaensuk - Taopluong was a mad low-quality brawl they were both exhausted after 5 minutes, Raek was hunting that body all night
Kaotem - Lansing was an absolute beauty
Thepthaksin, absolutely pristine performance, an absolute 'How to...' masterclass of distance control and using occasional kicks from the outside >>>> total dominant clinchfuckery on the inside. He fucken ragdolled that boy, unbeaten Russian puncher, my ass, that's how to do it, eat my knees tovarich
then the Sornsueknoi fight was a fucken banger
Ortikov, he's a difficult fighter, man. Sooner or later someone is going to back him up- i am pretty sure nobody in OFF has backed him up for any significant period in like 7 fights- and it will be interesting when they do, but until then, his very fast in and out footwork, fast hands and decent variety of strikes, and the very high tempo he sets, are very difficult to deal with as a package. I thought Pompet won the first round IIRC, and maybe he should have stuck to the gameplan which looked to be working for him early, good body kicks and leg kicks. I guess Ortikov made adjustments for rd2 and Pompet just couldn't adjust himself. It seemed especially that Ortikov's tempo, the pendulum stepping in&out and the volume of strikes, were just too much for Pompet. He's so fast in and out that he is very difficult to to counter-fight, which is why I think backing him the fuck up has to be the gameplan. someone sooner or later is going to back him up and hack his legs up, either that or maul him around in the clinch, I don't think playing KB-style strike-counterstrike in the middle of the ring is the way to beat this guy.
To me that fight proves Ortikov must be a threat to nearly anyone at 125-130lbs.
