MMA wrestling is not the same as collegiate wrestling so we don't know that Ben out wrestles Hendricks, I'm sorry we just don't. Also, that was a freight train version, best in class Hendricks that fought GSP. That Hendricks has never been seen again. Lastly, the old timers around here would tell you never try to use MMAmath, it just doesn't work. That is what you are doing right? Hendricks out wrestled GSP (which he didn't) and Ben can out wrestle Hendricks, therefore, Ben > Hendricks > GSP
You want some math, I'll give you some math. GSP never met a man he couldn't beat in the Octagon. 25-2, avenged both loses, and he is considered the best MMA wrestler of all time by most, holding the record for most take downs in UFC history with 66. You think Ben Askren can "get a jab" and be like Georges? GSP uses a carefully orchestrated set of jabs, 6 different ones, that people refer to as his jab. Its 6 different kinds of jabs with 6 different set ups. Ben Askren could spend the entire rest of his career trying to learn to jab like GSP and he would likely fail. GSP has the most complex jab game in MMA history.
For anyone interested here is Jack Slack's breakdown of GSP's 6 different jabs and why they are so effective.
Today we will examine some of the striking tools St-Pierre employs so effectively in his fights:
- The Springing Jab
- The Staggered Jab
- The Level-Change Jab
- The Safety Lead
- The Shortened Right Straight
- The Superman Jab
