Realizing how you're old

definitely when i started seeing gray in my beard. also when the music i listened to in my teens became classics that the younger generation of today listen to.

It's been about 25 years since they went mainstream.

It's weird thinking about going back 25 years from that point puts you in the Led Zeppelin, Boston, Chicago etc era.

What's sad is you listen to Creed and then any type of newer rock and it's not all that different. Music hasn't really changed much, especially with that genre.

Oh yeah. I work in a high school and a few years ago some of the kids were talking about seeing Bizkit in concert. I had to laugh. “They’re so old school!”

I recently made my mom feel really old. She was an elementary school teacher and the first class she taught was grade five in 1971. I mentioned to her that her students from that class are all 63 years old now and she just about fainted.

When my daughter was in 1st or 2nd grade she asked me if when I was a kid I had to write with a feather.

We had an exercise where we did calligraphy in cursive in elementary school in the 90s with one of those calligraphy pens my 22 year old cousin born in 2002 didn't know what any of that was.

I work at Avis at the rental counter, I see everyone's bday on their license. When someone rents a car and was born in 1996 or later. I graduated HS that year. that shit makes me feel old.
When any women walks up I always guess her age. When I guess she's maybe mid 50s and turns out she's my age. Then I feel sorry for her. Then I think fuck she might think I'm 60 too

Years ago I was working with a younger woman and we were talking about music. I mentioned Billy Joel, then I laughed and said, "Ah, you probably don't even know who Billy Joel is."

I still haven't recovered and that was like 15 years ago.
