How young would you get your baby's ears pierced?

As a person of mexican decent probably as a fetus.

lol. I married into an Italian family and it’s the same way. Held off on the earrings for a bit, but my daughter had a silver bracelet before she could even walk.

Two of my cousins (now adults) had it as babies and wore stud earings. I thought it was messed up, like why is jewelry that important? I doubt it negatively affected them psychologically, considering how it lasts a few seconds only and then they'll forget about it, how neuroplastic a young brain is and that they have totally different adult personalities - although I don't like the idea of doing stuff to or around kids (eg arguing, even in jest) when they're too young to communicate distress, but it's not like you're gonna get them pierced without the parents around or just leave them afterwards. Is it worse pain than getting vaccinations?

You had Spock ears?

She will live long and prosper...........

If I had a daughter, she'd have her ears pierced when she asks for it.
That bitch in the OP is clearly doing it for selfish reasons, trying to self-ascertain and live her life through her daughter. The baby is in trouble :(

14 would be youngest i'd allow it. I don't see the point, other than bringing attention from the opposite sex and seems pretty weird for young children to have it done.

We did She got them done for her 12th birthday. Many parents do it because they want people to know it's a girl. My daughter had long blonde hair and looked like a little girl, so we decided to let her choose when she was old enough.

It's definitely way less painful than a circumcision.

my mother had my ears pierced when i was a wee baby. it's nice not having to pay for your own piercings lol. although back in the 90s they did every piercing with a fukkin piercing gun, i would have opted for a needle but eh.

personally i wouldnt pierce a baby's ears, too much risk of infection, and for what? what is even the point? at least wait until they're old enough to nag you to death for it lol.

There's a woman on my local FBook group asking for recommendations to get her 2 month old baby's ears pierced.

When told she's being selfish and it's cruel she went berserk at everyone talking about circumcision.

2 months old for a cosmetic procedure is too young when it's painful for a baby who doesn't understand why, right? I had plastic surgery on my ears when I was 8 but I was old enough to know what was going on by then.
Wait about 16 years is how I would do it.

If now is a requirement, doctors used to do it. Watched my little sister get her ears pierced before she turned 1.

My sister got her ears pierced when she was about a year old.

I can still remember the blood curdling scream and thinking why would my mother do this to her? Lol
