R.I.P. CM Punk's MMA career

He is really not that popular outside of the WWE. I don't even know why he was popular in the WWE tbh his body compared to 99% of the roster is pretty fkin ugly, maybe he is talented at fake fighting? But then again he would need at leqst good cardio and his cardio waw shit from what we saw.

Thats what I dont get. This jabroni cheeseburger flabby ass penguin is so unfit. I know guys who work 40 plus hour weeks and still manage to look athletic as fuck.

His fake poser ass tattoos are all show. a pure marketing ploy for the mindless fan. I dont get how someone in his field doesn't work out. Its pathetic really

A lot of the people who step into the cage, feel like they have atleast a chance to win. But in CM Punk's case, he must've known that he was going to get his ass kicked. Yet he still did it. Twice.

That's pretty much end thread. I respect him for trying but he just wasn't there. Brock only worked because he's a fucking hambeast with hands the size of my ex's car. Carwin should have got the the stop but but he had talent. Cm punk not so much.

You could consider that to be impressive on some level, though mostly just insanely stupid.

This is what Brock's career would have looked like if he was not on a roid enema and weighed more than everyone he fought.

There's nothing impressive about that.
That beta level skinnyfat was and is just a big joke.

That's almost like the same thing when people come out of the closet and they should be appraised for that??!!

I'm poor as hell. Where's my accolades?<{vega}>

I was shocked with his return to be honest...

Especially with how badly the WWE treated him and his falling out with Triple H and McMahon. They pretty much talked shit about him every chance they got...

Would have loved to see him go to AEW for some dream matches with Omega, but from what I understand, he is only back for a commentating spot and probably won’t be wrestling, at least not full time.

I don't see how coming out of the closet compares to going in the world's premier MMA fighting league, to get your ass beat by a far superior fighter while millions of people are watching.

Obviously he didn't do it for free, but there's a reason why we won't see too many celebrities attempting the same feat, no matter how much money is being paid (and the UFC would certainly pay), and that's because they have some level of self-preservation instincts, career-wise and health-wise.

literally what a sherdogger would look like in there.

Nope, a good foot shorter, a good 100lbs of pure muscle lighter and with non of the natural god given fighting ability of your average sherdogger.

I really think he thought he had a chance. Some folk’s perception of reality can be way off. The audacity for him to want to give Gall some type of pep talk after their fight, like his voice mattered in mma, was weird to me.

It's possible. But from what I hear he was getting rag-dolled in staged exhibitions. Couldn't have given him much confidence for an actual fight.

When guys going light on you are kicking your ass, it's not hard to imagine what's going to happen in an actual contest.

He’s the one male ufc fighter I think I could beat.

2+ mill a year just to be a commentator, who wouldn't take that instead of taking punch's to the face.

i guess it would depend on who’s rag-dolling. Is it Woodly or the average Joe at the gym? I guess we can’t know what the guy was thinking. From the outside, to me it looked like he was really feeling himself and thought he had a chance.

I point to that pep talk to Gall, as evidence of his perception being way off, because no 0-1 fighter who just got their ass embarrassed, would think of giving their opponent some inspirational talk after the fight.

You know Wanderlei Silva respects legs of CM Punk...

About time. Punk got tired of being in worked fights were he had to sell ridiculous shots and put over mickey fuckin gall and wacko jacko.
Finally he can get back to real fighting.

Absolutely. Added to that CM crying in the post press conference. If he thought he was gonna lose against Gall wouldn't he be able to shrug his shoulders and say 'Hey I shouldn't even be here, I'm a beginner but I gave it my best shot' kinda thing? When instead he was crushed. Same as with against Jackson. Before the fight he talks about all he's learned in training etc, ready to implement it, show everyone how much he's improved and then afterwards it's tears. That's not really what you would expect from a guy who knew the reality of his situation.

No. I don't see it quite that way. I see it more along the lines of a selfish entitled average but massively over paid athlete using a sport as a bucket list to keep him from his fast approaching midlife crisis.

His inclusion in the UFC is at the very bottom of the barrel for me.

Not stupid, Brave or anything else that speaks to his metal or drive. His name suited him.

He was a Punk

naaahh ....much much worse for the typical sherdogger...there are levels to this game and CM Punk is not at the bottom of the totem pole no matter how shitty he looks
