Quotes about Rickson and his JJ ability

Do you see a wrestling with no submission grappling background putting Bucheca on a cradle for 20 mins?

Wrestling_states063_edit.jpg

And apparently prime Rickson would tap Bucheca with one arm tied while solving a sudoku with the other.

you said mark claimed he toyed rickson, which is a lie, plain and simple, he said he put rickson in a cradle for 20 minutes, not that he toyed im. You were quoting another poster that said that no one ever said a bad thing about rickson, so got your interpretation of what happened in that match and put words in marks mouth in order to validate your point, which is wrong, because you were simply lying.

I dont now about the other judoka you mentioned, but mark never said anything like tooling anyone. If you happened to go one day to a sambo class, and you tool the instructor, are you going to go to train with that guy after that? Mark went on and trained bjj under rickson and pedro saur, so I would have to guess that he was very impressed with ricksonb... Use some logic for fuck sakes.

and by the way, lmfao at calling Mark "a wrestler".... how about you call him THE wrestler.

Putting someone in a cradle for 20 mins is not toying with him?

Agian, do you see Jordan Burroughs putting Bucheca in a cradle for 20 mins?

He was only the Behring brothers and Rickson judo teacher and he is a 9th dan and trained in japan with Kimura, guy is legit and said that Sylvio was better on the ground than Rickson.

If Rickson toyed Behring, Mehdi wouldnt had said that, even if Behring was his favorite student, he wouldnt had said such a lie, that means that Rickson and Behring were at least competitive while rolling.

The wrestler would be Buvaisar Saitiev, Schultz did plenty of things that were not matched in the 80s, we are almost halfway through the 2010s.

Do you see Jordan Burroughs, with no BJJ crosstraining, putting Bucheca on a cradle for 20 mins?

Yet some people in this very board think that a prime Rickson would had defeated Bucheca.

He trained with them to learn submissions. He even said so.

Mehdi was and is no fan of the Gracies so its very possible that he said Sylvio was better because of his dislike for the Gracies.

He could possibly beat Buchecha in a no time limit match. Rickson would have his guard passed countless times but his submission defense and not using much energy may wear out Buchecha until Rickson can capitalize on Buchechas exhaustion.

Medhi is a French judoka that migrated to rio.
Back then, there were no judo in rio and he trained with the Gracies.
He got tired of their marketing and moved on to continue teaching judo on his own.
He lived and train in Japan after that.
He does not the Gracies marketing, lying, street fights etc.,
He believes that they just don't know how do throw and that a man should not have to rely to win a fight by keeping a man between his legs.
However, he never closed his doors in the Gracies kids.
He trained many of them.

1.- He may be no fan, but he trained his kids, he is also no liar, it was an opinion, opinions are based on perception.

Im not saying that Sylvio was better than Rickson, im saying they were competitive against each other, which beats the claim of god Rickson.

2.- You are delusional Bucheca would destroy prime Rickson IBJJF match or not.

Im not saying his opinion is a fact, im saying that according to him Behring was better, if Rickson was god and could beat Behring with one hand, why would Mehdi think Behring was better.

I don't doubt rickson's techincal comprehension, which makes him more negligent in his duties as an elder statesman of jiu jitsu. He should be educating as many practioners as possible.

Dude, I don't care what you said.
I am just putting some info on who is medhi,

Lol, Ryron almost tapped Galvao and you think the GOAT Rickson would be destroyed by BucMehca? ^^

Almost tapped him? Are u sure?

Sure, Galvao was gassed out and Ryron was attacking relentlessly in the end. Classic GJJ.. Tbh, I was being trollish, but it was suprising to see Ryron in that match.

you dont seem to get the point, whether YOU or I think putting someone in a cradel for 20 minutes is tyoing or not, is irrelevant, because those words have NEVER came out of marks mouth.

why do you keep bringing buchecha? my beef was with your ridiculous post the wrestlers, in which you based your "unbiased" opinion. Not on wheter rickson will or not beat buchecha.

I like rickson as a fighter but im not sure he has enough career defining battles on film to cement his legacy in the long run. Royce will never be forgotten with the early ufc fights and helio with his fight with kimura. but in years from now what will rickson be remembered for? allegedly being the best according to some people? fighting some average fighters in pride? im not saying he wasn't the beast that everyone says he was but with little proof, its going to turn into myth.

A few times, especially at the end when he nearly had the leg. The "best in the world at the absolute and welter" struggled with Ryron who literally smiled and kept it playful. Come on, he would've sliced through 99% of sherdog like butter in that.

If nothing else, Galvao didn't win despite the odds stacked against Ryron.

You mean no points and a long time limit? Ryron got exactly what he wanted in terms of rules, Galvao was being set up to be used as a poster child for 'keep it playful'. The only odds stacked against Ryron were that Andre is better than he is, all the pressure was on Galvao to prove he could sub Ryron, which he couldn't as Ryron spent most of the match only defending. But I don't think it proves much about the efficacy of GJJ since that is literally on the only rule set under which that sort of a strategy 'works' (in quotes since it's not like Ryron won).

Whats ridiculous about it? its been shown over and over tha BJJ practitioners in a sub only scenario will destroy wrestlers with no sub background, no matter the accolades.

Mark also clearly states that he was completely in control of Rickson but that he had no idea how to finish up

How does Ryron being good enough to survive against Galvao means anything concerning Rickson?

Be pciky with fights, dont get finished, claim moral victory.

Rickson vs. Buchecha, Metamoris 3

Nov 20, 2018

Rickson's farewell retirement match.

Someone write the pbp.

I think he is working the angle the other way.
I just saw a 10 min match buchecha and Galvao. I think buchecha won by a couple of advantages. But it was close especially knowing that buchecha had the weight advantage.
Of course, it was the final match after a very long day for both.
