So when getting a read, forming an opinion about QB's what are you looking for, what criteria do you use to form your opinion?

For me it's a combination of things, I take into consideration...

comp %
TD/INT ratio
passer rating
win/loss record
playoff success

Now things can get a bit funky, look at Dan Marino vs Terry Bradshaw, as we know Terry won all those SB's while Marino never won any, but, as we also know Marino was a FAR better QB than Bradshaw. Bradshaw was surrounded by 8 other future Hall of Famers.

Tom Brady owns the numbers and all those SB;s. he must be that QB GOAT.
'
So just how important is a Superbowl win? Hall of Famers Dan Fouts, John Unitas, Warren Moon, Fran Tarkenton, Jim Kelly and Marino never won one and they are far better than SB champs Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson and Jim McMahan , so....? Joe Namath had more INT than he had TD, he is in that HOF because of one game.

Patrick Mahomes is the best QB I have ever seen and his numbers prove that, there is nobody remotely close to him at the same stage of the career.

So what do we do with Otto Graham , Unitas, Tarkenton vs Peyton, Rodgers, Brady, Brees, how about Elway and Young, how about Joe Montana? How do we deal with the different game different era's?

I read.....pro bowls don't mean a fuck.....really? Isn't that telling us that those pro bowlers were considered to be among the best at that position in that season, sure it does.

So when taking into consideration all the info we have available to us, give me your top 10 All Time QB;s., I am curious how my list stacks up.

One of the ....unique....QB situations was Slingin' Sammy Baugh, the cat played defense also and is considered to be among the greatest punters ever, like in he could punt today. Forget QB at 185 pounds

The roots to the tree

Remember Bears WR Curtis Conway, when he was in a Cali HS he was a QB, a QB who won state in the 100m , now that;s a rarity.
Read somewhere that Marcus Allen was also a HS QB.

So what QB was as impressive as Russell Wilson was those first 10 years/decade of their career, well?

Talking....

playoff success
wins
pro bowls
passing yards
TD/INT
comp %
passer rating
rushing yards

Ok, Patrick Mahomes, now who else?

Remember that game where he had 450 passing yards only to throw that pick to lose the game? Being the cool guy he is he never............the guy ran the wrong route........which he did as we found out later.

While here....

Wilson vs everyone else

number 12 in wins
number 12 in td passes
number 5 QB rushing
number 5 career passer rating
number 5 TD/INT ratio
10 pro bowls
Supebowl champion
highest paid player in history (short lived)
voted as high as number two on that best NFL thingy
numerous teams wanting him
number 9 in 4th Q comebacks

Being a history geek/freak and having seen them all since the late 50's (little kid) I can't put him in that top 10 all time, but 11-15 absolutely.

Keep in mind we have had a thousandish QB's since 1958ish so to be top 20 all time, yep........special.

I read.....he's no different than Trent Difer or Alex Smith

Dilfer 55,5 comp% more INT than TD, 70.2 Passer rating
Smith 62.6 86.9 199/109 TD/INT
Wilson 64,6 99.4 with three times more TD than INT

Just heard Rex Ryan say....

Patrick Mahomes is the best QB we have ever seen,

Well, he is the best I have ever seen. And I was watching pro football before we had the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ya know what's crazy? I don't think we will see another Patrick Mahomes, at least not for awhile.

He has the wins in the post-season/rings like Brady and he has the unmatched/raw talent of Rodgers.

I still think he wins two more ships before his first ballet HOF career is said and done.

Matthew Staffod finay getting some love, been hearing/reading MVP talk.

All for letting Jones finish 2025, give Purdy plenty of time to recover.

Most overrated QB ever...........John Elway.

Right now Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes have close to the same numbers for 2025 so far.

Is Drake Maye having the best 2025 season of any QB?

Comp % 71.7
Passer Rating 113.9
Rushing yards 283

In a word.....WOW~~~~
