Prime Mirko Cop vs Lyoto Machida

That shit would've been mad dope

Pure style vs style of striking.

A time limit draw, tepid and drawn out with minimal clean hits, the Pride ring affords many breakups from the red shoes ref, it's featured on a DVD with a Melvin Manhoef fight somewhere.

Cro cop would kill him literally. It wouldnt be competitive

TF? You wanna see the first death in the octagon? Filipovic by KO
LOL I was about to write the same thing. I love Machida and been a fan of his since forever ago but holy fuck the beating he'd take against Mirko is almost unfathomable. Mirko is so much bigger, stronger and faster... It just wouldn't be fair in any way whatsoever. If they were the same size and around the same athletically and Machida chances would be much better.

Machida doesn't have the ability to apply the pressure or the natural heavyweight power to take advantage of any hole in cro cop's game

I would say its really Machida who has more holes on his game, he throws that straight counter well but the rest of his boxing isn't too hot were as Mirko could be very effective when needed.

Paying homage to an epic sherdog post.

Right leg hospital, left leg cemetary, middle leg abortion clinic.

Mirko by anything he wants.

It'd be a closer fight now, but in his prime Mirko was a Top 3 HW in the world. He wins by 1st rd LHK

Yeah u would look faster fighting bigger heqvier guys at hw.thats why mirko looked fast.no way hes faster than prime machida

I guess you never saw him in k1 and being faster than smaller guys .....

Prime Cro Cop lost to worse fighters than that, in worse fashion. Gonzaga agrees with that.

Crocop underestimated Gonzaga but more importantly he underestimated the elbows, that’s what won Gonzaga the fight. Crocop has a history of underestimating fighters like McDonald , randleman , Nogueira and Gonzaga .....

The broken shin and maybe just relatively disinterest in the UFC(even if it paid better by that stage) definitely ment he was under trained for the new environment but equally I think its just Mirko's style and the threat of fighting at HW. Most fighters who look to dominate fights standing will try to throw opponents off with less powerful strikes ment to disruption their game but Mirko was pretty much all of nothing, he stood right infront of people and threw almost entirely strikes with potential to end fights and depended on his pure movement/timing to avoid opponents offence.

Guys like Randleman and Gonzaga were dangerous but flakey fighters who had an on night and threw perfectly timed strikes. The difference was I would say that Mirko by 2007 was just coming to the end of his prime and that loss/injuries ment he never returned to his best form.

What about Prime Fedor against Jussier Formiga? How do you think that would play out?
