Prime JDS' streak was ungodly impressive

I'd say that beating Lesnar, the same Bigfoot that wrecked Fedor and had a great fight with Hunt twice, JDS in a not close fight, Rothwell, Nog who got the belt a few fights before, and of course, as a fighter when you can't really compare these 2 because Cain is so much better, makes him better.

"had a great fight with Hunt"? JDS beat prime streak Hunt with flashy spinning shit KO. Also, majority draw was BS, Hunt was robbed though it was close. Moreover, that Bigfoot is not the same that faught Fedor, by the first fight they already took away had taken his medical testosterone privileges.
Kongo and Nelson are equal to me, though I'd bet 3 times out of 3 Country would ko him again.
Sure Werdum didn't have as good striking as now, not even close, but he was coming off back to back KO wins over Vera and Gonzaga

Yeah, no way he could keep up with the Sylvia's, Arlovski's, and Randy's that were running the UFC HW division when he was the top guy in Pride/MMA.

he had a nice streak but it was over after only 1 title defense, so cant take it too seriously.

you're right, he took Overeems best shot and wasn't out. He still is awful because he lost a fight.
 
It was a good run. Sounds like sherdog overrates JDS a bit.

Yvel? Meh.

Gonzaga is an ok win.

Roy Nelson is meh.

Carwin was done by the time he fought JDS and fought him after a year lay off. JDS was supposed to fight Brock.

Cain was a great win. Best win of JDS' career.

I didnt care about the stand up in the Mir fight. I was impressed by how he stuffed everything grappling related Mir kept trying to pull, he barely could get one of his legs off the ground, much less a take down.
 
I can't stand bald JDS. If he kept his hair he'd be unstoppable

Yeah I suppose it would have been more dignified if he had gone out cold. The warrior went out on his shield and all that. Rather than get piledrived into the canvas from his own choke and finally having an excuse to curl up like a baby and have the ref save him after 50 straight minutes of brutality he was helpless to stop. When Velasquez licked up the blood he consumed JDS's soul.

Then after all those years of talking smack about Overeem and saying he was scared of him etc. he got a striking clinic put on him, backed up grinning with embarrassment when he had him trapped on the cage and got his lights put out. If I were a JDS fan I would probably be bitter too.
 
Prime JDS was a treat and I still dream about him returning one day. :(
