Prime JDS' streak was ungodly impressive

I'm surprised JDS got passed over for Cain for the title shot against Brock. Cain best wins pre Nog was Kongo/Rothwell. When JDS has wins over Werdum/Cro Cop/Gonzaga before fighting Nelson at 117. JDS run to the title has a higher quality compared to Cain's win streak to the title.

When Brock was champ, Carwin, Cain, and JDS were all undefeated in the UFC.
They scrupulously had them avoid each other until each guy fought for the title.
I don't agree with how they did that, and would have preferred the title shots to happen in the opposite order in which they happened. Almost like they did it by age?

Edgar's run is not even as good as Conor's in his own division smh
It isn't even close, Conor's run was a win over Poirier and a win over a 2 week Mendes (who was dominating him before gassing out). Edgar has wins over Swanson, Mendes, Faber and Penn, and will have one over Aldo as well if he gets the shot. Thats 3 top 5 wins, 3 top 5 FW GOAT and the LW GOAT before getting a title shot, in comparison to 1 top 5 for Mcgregor who looked set to UD him if he'd had a camp

Edgar collected some good names, but you really gonna tell me upright BJ in 2015 is some great victory? Yea BJ is LW GOAT but that fight was a joke

Faber is at 135 for a reason. Swanson is a name fighter but he lost to Holloway who Conor beat, he's on the downside of his career.

Wouldn't be surprised if some considered him GOAT after the Mir fight which he stuffed everything the HW grappling wiz attempted.

The bold goliath was piercing through the roster like a light saber through year old cottage cheese.
My second fav "jump off seat" KO after the Conor/aldo one, would have to be the first round lullaby Cigano put on Cain. Considering the monstrous aura that Cain carried at that time. Not to mention all the other domanant first round KOs against Werum, Yevel, Gonzaga, Struve. Cro cop was not prime but he was not as shot as people think if u see the 4 decent wins before and after JDS tapped him to strikes. And other than the win over Big country, who can fucking claim the right to retiring that the inhuman hands that dwarfed Brock's in Shane Carwin.

Don't know what happened after he switched coaches, or if his style has been figured out, but regardless off how he's doing lately, he's not a man to be taken lightly, and this is just a respect thread I just felt like posting :)

6 wins vs Top 10 Ranked opponents, from Werdum to Mir, only a 4-Year run (2008-2012)...

It would have been foolish to think he was anywhere near the Greatest HW of All Time.

But it was a solid run.

The Cain/Carwin/JDS/Brock quad of prospects is yet to be seen for a long time. Hope the likes of Curtis Blaydes, Francis Ngannou, Biyal Makhov and Marcin Tybura become top 10 fighters in the next 2-3 years to refresh the division.

I don't mind Ben but really hope to see him brutally knocked out tomorrow night...come on JDS!

He was. They took it when they took it from Vitor and everyone else. The one who beat Fedor last fight was Hunt, so he fought Cormier and Cain. In the 2 Cain fights he was able to only hit Cain once, this was much more impressive win than Hunt. Yeah I gave the fight to Hunt when they fought, but it was close and anyone could win.
I find Rothwell and Kongo to be better wins than Nelson and Struve.
No, they did not take it away when they took it from Vitor. Big Foot was suing his doctor before his first Hunt camp claiming that he missed up the test levels. refresh ur memory.
