Zero fucks given. All UFC HW champions
"Ex UFC champions" is what you meant to say. For Fedor to fight a UFC champion he'd have to have fought in the UFC, which we all know he's too scared to do.

Stipe's had some luck but it will run out he charges in someone will counter him just as JDS did and Overeem nearly had him out too.

Who did he win 27 fights in a row against? Out of all those 27 probably 2 or 3 at most where credible opponents. I know everything about fedor i watched almost all of his fights back in the day. He is overrated. Couldnt beat his 3 best opponents. He is good, hes not a bum, but hes massively overrated.

Yeah, someone's lying their ass off. You know damn well you didn't watch Fedor during his actual prime.

He was out of his prime the millisecond that he lost, just like Cro Cop.

Not really, people saw the Werdum loss as a fluke at the time and expected Fedor to rebound from it and completely destroy Bigfoot.

Also...if someone goes unbeaten for 10 years and 30+ fights, then loses 3 times in a row to guys that a few years earlier werent on his level (and had actually lost to guys he had beaten) it seems pretty accurate to assume that he is in decline.

Stipe is on a four-fight win streak, and people are talking about him as the GOAT. WTF?!

He is good, but he has flaws in his game and will lose again soon. JDS could have put him on his ass several times if he did what he's actually known for - PUNCH! But he didn't. Maybe Stipe flustered him with his pressure, I don't know, but it still doesn't explain why Junior would throw a punch and decide to halt it when it could have connected. There's an example I think around 3:10 of the fight, and it wasn't the only one. Stipe's hands are often way too low, and someone is going to capitalize on it soon. Prime Fedor most certainly would.

"I watched most of his fights back in the day" = I looked at Wiki for 2 mins

Whats next? "I'm a fan of Fedor BUT...", "I train MMA and my coach said...."

Battle of the titans. Would be a good fight.

Things like this are tough
00's Fedor was dominant, but athletes get better as time goes on.
So in a fight between 2017 Stipe & 00's Fedor? - Stipe
Who deserves to be called GOAT due to dominating their era? Fedor

Seriously, no one that actually watched Fedor during his run would ever say some BS like that poster did. Never.

To this day, I think his decline was more mental than anything else, and I think the werdum loss was a big reason for it.
Obviously, he had trouble with his bionic hand, but I don't think he lost that much physically before his losing streak.

I rate fedor as easily a top 2 fighter ever, with only Jon jones rivaling him.
That doesn't mean that I need to discount his losses.
There's a pervasive problem in mma where being a fan of somebody means being irrational and ignoring things.
There's also an extremely weird thing with guys pretending that the fighters they are fans of are sexy and should alpha male everyone out of their women, but that's a different problem altogether.

Prime Fedor Vs current Prime Stipe, Fedor wins without a doubt and he'd make it look easy.

I do think there was probably a physical component to it. He was entering his mid 30s at the time of the Werdum fight, thats retirement age in most athletic competition, and he had already had more fights at that point than Werdum has had NOW 7 years later. I also think theres the possibility (I know some folks wont want to hear this) that more stringent drug testing could have played a part too. Its very possible that his explosiveness and strength wasnt what it used to be by then due to all those factors, and that was a big part of his game in Pride.

But yeah there was probably a mental aspect to it too after the Werdum fight. Nobody really considered Werdum a threat at the time, Fedor possiblyunderestimated him, dropped him, got overzealous wanting to get the quick finish and then a few seconds later, boom! the undefeated label was gone. Its not uncommon to see previously superhuman seeming fighters take one loss and then make a habit out of it.

They were always on his level.

The difference in skill level is astounding. Fedor easily outstikes Stipe and chokes him after rocking him.

Stipe wouldn't fare well against CroCop or Nog of that era either. HW today is mostly trash, bunch of shopworn old dudes who live or die by the first clean punch landed.

He got KO'd in his last fight and got awarded the W through blatant corruption and has fought nothing but cans for years. Of course he's on a win streak.

I was being sarcastic. While a legend in the sport, he record is severely overrated.

I know what you are saying but this isn't relevant at heavyweight. Some of the same guys are still top ten all these years latee

Please. He got outstruck by fuckin bigfoot. Wide haymakers=skill??? Go back and watch the end of the Hendo fight. Specifically, watch the playground-esque haymakers when he thought he had Hendo hurt, only to be reversed with a technical wrestling move and KO'd by a guy 6 years older and 20lbs lighter.

His 2 best wins (both decisions) went 10-12 in the UFC.

"Derr...outta prime!!"
