Awesome stuff, Bloodhy.

Did your strength suffer much cutting for your competition?

1 x 285lbs (129.3kg) PR +10lbs
1 x 290lbs (131.5kg) PR +15lbs
F x 295lbs (133.8kg)
1 x 295lbs (133.8kg) (No Pause)

Close Grip Bench
1 x 225 (102kg)
1 x 245 (111kg)
1 x 265 (120kg)

Incline Bench
1 x 185 (83.9kg)
1 x 205 (93kg)
1 x 225lbs (102kg)

Really happy with these new numbers. Plan is to bench at least 300lbs at the meet.

I had to test my Close grip and Incline as well for the Bench Predator program. That face when you close grip your previous bench PR.

Awesome stuff, Bloodhy.

I didn't lose any strength on Bench and Conventional deadlift. I lost 50lbs on my sumo deadlift and a little bit on my squat too.

The show was just over a month ago and I'm already stronger than I was before. Think I built some muscle and it's a win-win in the end.

You're doing the meet at Evolve, or some other meet?

Yes the meet at Evolve. I got the very last spot when I subscribed too! Do you plan on coming? I imagine some of your friends would compete then. Also, plan on doing any meet this year?

I'd be a little surprised if no one I know competes, but I actually don't know of anyone doing the evolve meet.

I was planning on doing the evolve meet myself, but since I strained my adductor, I decided against doing a meet so soon . So my next meet won't be until November.

+42lbs (19kg) PR from 4 weeks ago! I'm halfway through my peaking cycle now but I'm still not my all time strongest. I pulled 515lbs in January and I'm definitely hoping to beat that at the meet in August.

Also, met the Powerlifting team tonight and they're pretty kool. LRP powerlifting, they have a youtube channel called RLpowerlifting. They're the ones hosting the event too. One of the guys actually gave me a tip on my fail deadlift and I came back and nailed it.

EDIT: Had a photoshoot today with the college in town where I'm doing the Bachelor (NAIT). They'll put my face in the magazine for 50,000 copies and possibly on billboards around the town too. That's pretty exciting!

Thanks! I'm dreaming for 545lbs at the meet but I'm sure 530 is in the cards. I'll be deadlifting 3 times a week until the meet, kinda scared!

Damn, that's some serious deadlifting. I like it

Not only are you Jakt n Tan with shredded glutes and 3d delts.. you back it up with big numbers. Nice job.

Great work. Some vn deadlift PB's for sherloggers this week.

Thanks guys! Feel quite weak after watching Eddie Hall's new world record at 1,020lbs, which is more than twice my PR haha

Here's a progress pic halfway through my peaking cycle at 192lbs (87kg) bodyweight. Still trying to make 205lbs bodyweight for August 22. The lighting sucks in this washroom.

First time ever using straps. Went to buy some just cause it's in the program. Got the non padded but rubberized one, they suck. I'm changing them for non padded non rubberized.

If nothing else, some use of straps will keep your hands from getting too beat up by your current deadlift volume. Especially considering the bars at evolve. I'm kind of wishing I started my current training cycle making some use of straps, so I'd be used to them, and could use them without feeling like they're messing up my setup too badly.

Good point. I love these bars but they do scrape my hands pretty hard. My gf's not liking it haha. I'm supposed to only use them on heavy snatch grip DL, might just use them once a week.

We have the same kind of bars at the UAPA, although ours are older, so the knurling is a little less aggressive at this point. I don't know anyone who's had grip issues with those bars that doesn't either have small hands, or pulls at least 600.

Just remember, with deadlifting less is more, especially at an elite level.
