Why the switch to bw from 531? I ask because i made the opposite switch ( bw to 531)

Great question.

First of all my priorities switched, BJJ is at the top of my list now, by far.
Second, I love a routine. BW training every morning starts my day right. It's also very convenient. The plan is to add morning Cardio once the weather allows, which BW training will accommodate.
Lastly, it's super easy on the joints and easy to recover from. Surprisingly, my strength is still there as told by my BJJ teammates. And, the physique is holding up too.

I probably will get back to weights at some point, it's been a big part of my life for years.

Yea I can see that. I went down deep in callisthenics Mafia for a while and it's fun doing handstand push-ups lever pull ups etc .

Broke my nose again a few weeks ago, my coach accidentally knee'd me in the face in a live roll. Pretty sure I'm doing sleep apnea again and my Garmin watch agrees. Daily poor sleep stats.
That's part of why I stopped fighting ~10 years ago. Had broken my nose in boxing and got sleep apnea. The Doc said he would only fix it if I stopped fighting and that he wouldn't fix it once...

I got an appointment with a nose specialist within 2 weeks. I hope I can get in for surgery pretty quick without waiting a few months...

Thank you! My toolbox is definitely full and the dots are connected between the various techniques. I just need to apply it better in a competition setting.

It's been a minute since I boxed... or rather 9 years. Felt great, and I might be doing more of it after my next comp. I'm in an "MMA gym" but it's really a boxing gym... They have a huge amateur boxing fighter program and a couple of pros.

Next promotion is in July, and then December. Think I might get my purple in July, and so do my teammates. Fingers Crossed.

Great start to a holiday with these seminars. Ton of useful information and I especially liked the techniques on Guard Passing from Headquarters. It's very similar to Rafael Lovato JR style, which I like to emulate with my top game. Super heavy pressure at all time and no wasted movement. Also, can there be a better location than Canmore for a seminar? Place is beautiful.

Gold in the Absolute Division (Nogi Blue Masters 1)

Fantastic week in Vancouver training at 10th Planet. Learned a lot of new techniques/principles and I fine-tuned my game quite a bit rolling with so many different grapplers. Favorite sub is Arm Triangle RN.

Finally won a GOLD, and in the absolute too! Going to take a break from competing for a bit. I've been going non-stop since September. I know what I need to work on, I just need more time in the gym rounding up my game fully.

Bombshell news late Sunday night; Wolfhouse is switching to GI ONLY classes...??? Weird AF. Been coaching no-gi there for ~6 months and it was going well.

Anyways, it's a blessing in disguise. I'm so happy I got the chance to coach, but I also have other goals in my life that I couldn't attend to... It was also great to give such a hard push for 6 months into my blue belt; I progressed a lot.

Kingdom was super happy to take me back, and I'm ecstatic to go back! I really missed the crew there, as I was JUST telling Ryan at the True North comp.
Now I'll have time and energy to get back on the weights: win-win.
