Never bought that personally, the UFC probably don't care a lot about Ank after the Jan fight so were not likely to go out of there way to give him another shot quickly.

I would argue Alex has pretty much single handily brought back serious credibility to the LHW title in part because he's willing to fight so often.

Yep, even thought this place is full of hardcore MMA fans they don't seem to get how the UFC works in year of our lord 2025, Alex was never offered the Ank fight until now and said yes to every fight the UFC offered him, people don't seem to get that the UFC makes the fights, not the champs and that ducking is saying no to a fight offered by the promotion.
