Penalizing Families...a New Low For Radical Conservatives

So not having a TV means a mother can stay at home full time with a kid?

You wen't full ripskater. Never go full ripskater.
There's lots of things we could do without:
beach vacations
new car payment
dish satellite/cable tv payment
cell phones for kids
eating out
daycare fees

How much money do you save right there above? For some people, this means a mom can stay home and raise the kids instead of the daycare

The US. I've never heard of only 12 weeks, so it can't be "most US companies".

Companies are required to give up to 12 weeks per the FMLA. You have to be eligible for it to apply to you though. Be there at least a year, worked at least X amount of hours in that year and the company has to have over X amount of employees. When my wife had our first two I took off 6 weeks with each of them. With our third child I had recently changed careers and wasn't eligible. So that sucked.

They could just save up that $4757 before they decided to have a kid and bypass touching their SS.
Telling people to stop shitting out a kid every year they can’t afford is racist sexist kkk

We cant have nice things in America because of morons like RIP who vote.
If you think you need more socialism and a bigger more intrusive federal govt to have nice things, then I don't know what to tell you.

Since when do others get to decide how much is enough or too much regarding wealth?
This is s free country. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has been codified into our very being as a nation. It's in the Declaration of Independence, fafucksake.

Stop being a betafag and go out and pursue your own fortune, anything else is strictly un-American, and frankly reeks of envy.

it has? yea those Iphones, internet and 4 tvs is a must to live

thats such cop out bullshit. I was talking about price of healthcare and price of housing , and cost of college education ... you just keep on thinking its trinkets fella

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. Being able to access SS early for something like this is going to be helpful. Early withdrawal should result in some kind of reduced pay out down the road to keep the system financially honest.

There are plenty of potential downsides, primarily being that if people need to draw from SS to handle maternity leave, it's not promising that they'll be in a position financially to recoup that prior to retirement. So we're just pushing the financial problem from now to later.

Still, it's better than nothing.

Sure but it’s actually quite a pathetic way to say they are doing something.

SS exists becuase we don’t or can’t save enough to prevent poverty in the elderly. The government should not be providing ways to “borrow” against these forced savings, they should be setting up real maternity support and paying for it through taxes.

Isnt this "who cares deal with it later" logic one of the major causes of many issues our country faces?
Seems more like the reality of paying for an expensive government program kinda thing. Personally I think it would be a better bill if they let you up your SS for a time to let you get back to your original payout.

A majority of Americans do go without that stuff. The average American isnt even able to handle a $500 financial emergency. Stop living in your imaginary 1950s troll world.

The GOP hates poor people

I'm not against the concept of paying your employees more when your company is making more money or producing more. far from it

At my last meeting with my manager, I said so is company X going to start sharing the wealth with that new tax rate? no answer.

If you had a minimum wage at $21 an hour I would assume it would be extremely hard for small businesses to exist.

Amazon...walmart..yes..... Bob's bbq, not so sure.

The bottom line is can we or can we not create a society where every member can live a life of dignity? The answer is yes we can if that is what we think is right and just.

No one could ever convince me that jobs that are required to be filled by society also cannot pay a living wage. I don't even want to be a part of a society like that. The extra money is readily available and it is in the hands of the super wealthy. It is not their money-- it was made on the backs of workers and laborers and other employees who don't have enough to get by in a dignified way.

Radical - conservative. Think about that. Good god your mind is mush.

Just speaking of myself.
I'm average dude
working at average job
getting the average pay
and I'm far from "not living a life of dignity"

The people in the very bottom already get assistance from the government.

For me it comes down to the entry level jobs and in my opinion, entry level work was never designed to support a family. That's what Society wants now.

Progressives are always confused when they find out there's a cost to paying for things.
