Elections Pelosi pulling the hypocritical, hyperbolic (D) line about Trump not conceding really, really early

Wow.. You're losing it. I've been noticing it for a few months now. Hope you get back.

I don't subscribe to CTs. You just made that up. Russia collusion was a CT. I think there has been some evidence, but not enough that I'm certain or anything, that some shady spying was done against the Trump campaign. Is that a CT at this point?

But seriously, you are losing it. Respectively. You're a smart guy.
I've noticed the same thing. Jack is friggin smart, but he's buying ino some serious nonsense now.
So a high level Dem is already cling that Trump won't concede even if he loses the next election, which the campaigning hasn't even started yet? That seems either like they're spreading nonsense, or they're prepping for a CT. Either way, I wouldn't put any faith into it.
Instead of rising up and being better than Trump, which isn't that hard, many on the left have decided to try and out Trump, Trump.

Your bet was based on misrepresenting my position.

No, my bet was based on your own words. You believe it's a real possibility that Trump will go crazy, and have his political opponents locked up if he loses, and compared the threat he poses to democracy to that of the Civil War.

You pussied out, and then lessened your stance to "Trump will probably complain about it a bit."

And I hope they continue 'cause I want me some 4 more years of MAGA.

You're not quoting me, but you're dishonestly putting it in quotes. My position is unchanged. Trump poses a serious threat to our democracy because he's likely to do the things that I listed.

This is ridiculous. Put your partisanship aside and look at the facts. A president behaving the way "Daddy" is behaving imperils democracy. We're relying on other public servants rising up to the challenge he's posing, but there are no guarantees.

@Amerikuracana, I offered a bet to Heretic in another thread but he chickened out. Maybe you'll take it: I'm saying that Trump will at least informally accuse his opponent in the general of being a criminal and if he loses will at least informally claim that he was cheated in some way. Either action, if taken seriously, would imperil our democracy. Would you bet against him taking either course?
No thanks. Too broad. Accusing Joe of potentially being a child molester isn't that far fetched, and could happen. Don't like my odds there, although it would be less of a threat to a democracy, and more of a dude pointing out another dud rubbing little girls nipples. I also think the left, especially in urban areas, is pretty capable of committing some serious fraud. Trump might bring it up if he lost, but he wouldn't stay in office if he lost the election. Kind of a big difference there.

I'm not interested in a bet, but if you can remember this thread when the appropriate time rolls around, I will look forward to anything you stated coming true being pointed out.

My main point is Trump will not stay in office and attempt a coup if he loses. It's possible he whines like the left has recently, but I doubt that badly. So my bet would be "Does Trump attempt to overturn the election, and resist removal once it is official he lost." I would say he does not. Pelosi was saying she thinks it's a seriously possibility he would; many in this thread have said something similar. I find it delusional.

If the president is publicly accusing someone of a crime, typically you'd expect to see some action on that. And if the president is saying that the election was stolen, you'd expect mobilization on that. As I said, the argument that it *won't* lead to problems depends on Trump being dismissed by his own appointees as a clown and/or on public servants standing up for the Constitution against the president. One or more of those is likely but people should not just assume that we're safe. We are facing a serious threat.

No. No I don't think the premise of what Pelosi is talking about is a serious threat. If it is? Then the Dems are more of a threat. They haven't been taking Ls well.

If a Democratic president made the kind of absurd accusations that Trump made after the election and regularly makes, he'd never get away with it.

And Barr is going to make sure the Democrats aren't going to get away with their antics against Trump.

I'm sorry but you're being the partisan. Trump shouldn't act like he does. No excuses. Which is why it's sad seeing other politicians starting to act like him. I don't expect much from Trump. But people vilifying him and then mimicking him is where it gets ridiculous

Well I'm not on Twitter. He's on my fb, and I don't see him questioning elections amd calling for republicans who lost to continue to pursue avenues to overturn the election.

LOL! So if you don't see it on your feed it's not happening? Yikes man.

That's what the left does. That's what "resist" was about. Thats why there were screaming fat idiots at state capitals trying to keep trump from being put in office. THAT was the threat to our democracy. THAT was encouraged by the media, or at least not denounced. If the same had happened to Obama? Yeah..

Can you even attempt to explain why that is a threat to our democracy?

The left is the current threat to our democracy. They, and many corporate entities, seem to want them to be "the state." I voted for Obama twice, and am completely independant; I'm not lying to you about this. Trump does say stupid crap sometimes.

Your voting history has nothing to do with your failure to see how dangerous Trump is. I'm assuming good faith here so you don't have to go out of your way to prove your views are non-partisan.

But people vilifying him and then mimicking him is where it gets ridiculous

It's definitely been interesting to see how all of the Democratic candidates are pulling off their masks and going full-blown Trump with their rhetoric . . . Booker, Swalwell, Harris, Warren . . . all doing their best Trump impersonations. Just to rile up their bases. They saw how it worked for Trump.

You didn't do what I asked. Make an effort to understand the point before just blindly jumping in and defending what you see as your "team."

The fear is that Trump will accuse his next opponent of being a criminal and abuse the legal system to make the case, and that he'll claim that he was cheated if he loses, and abuse the legal system to make that case. Does anyone doubt that he'd do either of those things? We're counting on people essentially ignoring the president, and in many cases, the people we're counting on were handpicked by him to be in their position.

Can you quote this "full-blown Trump"-style rhetoric? Didn't think so. Just a totally dishonest claim.

No chance he can quote any of it because it's not true. These guys will follow Trump off the most uneducated cliff around. It's really bizarre. F the constitution because TRRRUUMMMPPPPP

This is what @Jack V Savage doesn't see. Pelosi is already building s case for something that doesn't exist yet. Trump blisters a lot and a lot of it is bluster and nonsense. To thibk that he wouldn't step down after an election defeat is silly.
Your side is just trying to out Trump him, and in so doing so, looks really bad. Being a jerk is one thing, being an unoriginal one is usually worse.

I suspect a learning disability here. No matter how often the actual argument is repeated, you keep reading it as something entirely different. Spamking, this again illustrates the moral and intellectual collapse of the right. These guys are no longer able to engage in a rational discussion.
