Elections Pelosi pulling the hypocritical, hyperbolic (D) line about Trump not conceding really, really early

Right, but the president falsely and recklessly claiming that millions of ineligible voters voted is a step toward that. He said that following a race he won before he took office. If a sitting president makes that kind of claim in a race he lost, we have a much bigger problem. Right? I'm not seeing why you can't admit that. The only way it's not a problem is if no one takes him seriously, which is its own problem (that we have a president who is regularly dismissed and quietly overrode by his own people).

He keeps saying stuff that sounds stupid, and it keeps coming up as somewhat true. Do I personally think "millions" of votes were fraudulently cast? No. I think back in the day people used to vote 5-6 times, but that was like a hundred years ago. Pretty sure it's not that common. Would it surprise me, with the good-guy badge the party that gets less good by the month thinks it has, if there was voter fraud on the left, with some surprisingly big numbers in areas prone to it? No. That would not surprise me. It would not have surprised me if there was voter fraud against Obama in some blood red back woods districts, either.

i was called a psycho and hysterical by the right wing mongrel brigade here months ago for bringing this up. now people are starting to actually realize it is a very real possibility. he's not fucking leaving, so snowflakes and bitches best buckle up because he's either going to drag america down with him before he leaves or he's going to become the supreme ruler.

Yikes. So you're saying that you believe the crazy claims he made. That goes back to a point I made (that @ultramanhyata also made): If he were to try to pull something like that, you'd claim that it was justified, and you'd back it up. That's precisely why it's such a threat. Anything he says gets believed by many gullible voters.

She says he wouldn't concede, or even step-down, unless it was a landslide. Pathetic, really. The D's have been making "weird" mainstream for a few years now. Wish they would stop; I kind of used to think they were the smart ones.

If you read between the lines of what she is saying, I think she is also asking for a push to the middle for her party. I'm not sure how I feel about that, because I'm pretty sure the reason she is advocating for that push is on behalf of the money interests that she has essentially been working for and catering to for 50 years now. Do I thnk she would really stand up against the social engineering ID politics? Not that much.. She would probably insist UHC is what needs to "come back to the middle," and that's gross.

But anyways, I really can't believe a high level democrat would have the nerve to pull this line out after what has been in front of our faces the last few years. What she is saying she is afraid of is what THEY do, of course. It's almost like they are flaunting how brainwashed their constituents are, as to not point this out the ridiculous, even comical, hypocrisy.

Hard to concede loss when you curb stomp bitches en route to victory!!!

That is EXACTLY what the media brainwashed types were saying about Obama. I almost can't think it's a coincidence. I think maybe they are seeing if they can do it to everybody equally. They can.

Although only fruitcake guys use "yikes" often, I will say that you and your brethren have been noting but "yikes" this entire thread.

See, you think in absolute right, or absolute left. Your intelligence is lost with that. Nuance is lost. I said it wouldn't surprise me if there was voter fraud in some areas that could be prone to criminal type activities at a higher level. You turned that into "Yikiessss… You think millions of people fake voted," or something.

I don't even know man... I didn't get any W in this thread, but you are your cronies all took another L. So much more common these days. Trump isn't going to proclaim himself supreme leader.

Yeah, weird declarations of victory without addressing points are one of the go-to moves by partisans who can't defend their views on rational grounds here.

I said I didn't get a W. You keep changing peoples arguments to make them easier to attack. Stop doing that. Smart people don't do that.

The major and extremely obvious difference that you are ignoring, on purpose, are Trump's repeated statements undermining the validity of elections and their results, his open fawning for tyrants, and his frequent efforts to get people around him to break the law. The only thing that can prevent a person like him from assuming dictatorial powers is the fabric of democracy itself, and the willingness of government servants to uphold it. Which, thankfully, America still has. But that's not something we should take for granted.

:) You didn't get a W but everyone who disagrees with you got an L for reasons unexplained. That's not changing your argument, that's addressing it. You can't rationally respond so you just declare victory.

But Obama didn't praise autocrats and say how awesome it is that they are presidents for life.

He didn't claim millions of rednecks were casting multiple votes

And he didn't have the fear that he'll prosecuted once he leaves office for Obstruction of Justice

It's sort of like one situation has a basis in reality and the other doesn't

@Amerikuracana, I offered a bet to Heretic in another thread but he chickened out. Maybe you'll take it: I'm saying that Trump will at least informally accuse his opponent in the general of being a criminal and if he loses will at least informally claim that he was cheated in some way. Either action, if taken seriously, would imperil our democracy. Would you bet against him taking either course?

It's not a good look to lie, Jackie. What is with you and lying?

I was the one who offered you a bet. You then changed your tune from "Trump won't leave, will have a bunch a bunch of people arrested, and declare a total dictatorship that sees the country descend into civil war!"

To

"Trump will complain if he loses"

Please stop lying. It's not an admirable trait.

This reminds of the time Trump said on live TV that they should take away peoples guns without Due Process lol
Ahh, so a NYC business Democrat said that?

We know, Trump is not a Republican, he’s an 80s/90s era Democrat.

No, what I said was true, and you're lying. Do you want to take the bet now?

I'll take the original bet I offered you. You're not scared that your ridiculous conspiracy theory fantasies won't come true are you?

Your bet was based on misrepresenting my position, while my offer is based on standing behind my claims. Do you think that Trump will get through the campaign without accusing his opponent of being a criminal or that he won't claim that the election was rigged if he loses?
