Pavlovich will destroy Gane

Gane does NOT have one punch KO power. Gane is an easier fight for Pavlovich than Aspinall and Blaydes.
Pav lost to Overeem due to high level striking..I think Gane might be too much for him because of his speed....personally IDK what to think of PAV...rising star and dangerous and maybe the next big thing...just need to see more but he has shown he is the best vs dominate heavy strikers...but time will tell. IDK what to think of him TBH

If Pav cannot implement wrestling I could honestly see a 50-45 Ciryl or a TKO.

He is fucking hard to figure out on the feet.

Aspinall vs Ciryl is a must. This is the HW striking match we need (though Aspinall could definitely mix in his grappling and sub Ciryl).

Yeah I'd pick Pav in that match up just because it's going to be a stand up fight and the power difference is massive..

Also Pav isn't as quick and fluid as Gane but he's explosive for such a big dude. He's got speed on his punches and I like his shot placement..
I do like Pav's hands a bit more but I'd be worried about how he deals with the kicking game.

Every time I see these striking matchups it always stands out to me how superior kicking can be such an obstacle.

I'd like Pav to to shoot some takedowns to close range, and try to bomb Ciryl off the clinch breaks.

For as little as Spivak was throwing, he was landing some good strikes. Like popping Ganes head back. And he was hardly throwing. I'm pretty sure Pav won't fight so timid, and has an even longer reach than Gane.

and Pavlovich is a much faster and more explosive striker than Spivak. with a wingspan advantage as well

people forget that Tuivavasa dropped Gane. Pavlovich wouldn't have let Gane back up

We don't even have any confidence in how Pavlovich will fight after the first round lol, Gane is elusive enough that he should be able to avoid getting hit with big shots early. Longer that fight goes he drowns Pavlovich imo.

he has cardio for multiple rounds. source: his fights before coming to the UFC

Pavlovich most likely hunts him down and puts him down

It's definitely a good match up.

I will forever remember Ruas vs Varelans. The first time I ever saw leg kicks used in a fight.

RIP The Polar Bear

Me too

Remember him saying something along the lines of :

' If my rival wants to strike, I grapple
If he wants to grapple, I strike '

Pioneer

Legend

But we were talking the OG Polar Bear

RIP

edit: btw what the fuck was varelans background if there was any technique/wise (besides being big an showing up) ?

Straight brawler ?

We all remember the Bas Rutten broken glass window with PV

RIP

I don't watch enough to know but can't Pav wrestle? If so, Gane loses.

Would like to see Jon fight Volkov honestly. Definitely think Jon gets beat up on there.

Gane is just flat out better than Pav.

Also I picked against Gane vs Ngannou as well as against Jones…although there aren’t any other HW’s in the world I would choose to beat Gane. He is an incredibly talented fighter and it’s sad to see his fan base jump ship because he lost to the 2 best HW’s on planet earth.

Something that gets forgotten in the Ngannou fight is that Ngannou didn't have anything for Gane standing IIRC. With better TDD Gane takes that fight.

Don't believe for a second that Gane doesn't have power, the way he fights he relies on speed until he has you hurt.
