Patterson Gimlin Bigfoot Video

You just got yourself DISAVOWED.

I OFFICIALLY CAN NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY THE TRUE IDENTITY, NOR GENUS, OF ONE JAMES BOND.

(See how fun this gets when it doesn't slide into butthurt?)

Oh yeah forgot, can't cast Americans as bond

Maybe Felix. But bigfoot wants to be the star obviously look at that strut

THE PATTERSON/GIMLIN FILM – SOME NOTEWORTHY INSIGHTS

Christopher Murphy* Vancouver, B.C., Canada

ABSTRACT. The motion picture film of an alleged bigfoot taken by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin in October 1967 is examined and data are provided on the movement and stature of the bigfoot. It is seen that the film subject’s height and walking speed exceed that of the average human and that its head height to stature ratio is essentially beyond human proportions, being closer to that of an adult male gorilla. Quality full frame images from the film are presented to illustrate the level of detail captured by the film and witnessed by Patterson and Gimlin.

The compelling arguments in this thread have won me over. Because of the body proportions, the stride, the realistic body hair, no way that thing's human.

There's another part that makes me think it's real. The way it turns and looks is to natural, if that was a man in a suit no way could he turn and look in that direction while walking perfectly straight.

I have done some acting and for one gig I was a wolf and the costume was a full one like that and you could not see two feet in front of you, no way could I have done movements like that. Honestly, go put on a suit of some kind hell a Michael Myers mask and walk somewhere and try to do that movement, your vision is all over the place, you have to really focus to look while you walk. That thing is walking so natural.

I'm not saying this is proof but I find it hard to believe that is a man in a suit.

Been looking for something like this although I have no way to tell if any of it is verifiable.
  1. Indicates a height of over 7 ft tall (conservative estimate)
  2. A piece of wood seen in the video where the thing walked near or over measuring ~26" was retrieved from the site in 1971 in an attempt for scale purposes
  3. Footprints measured in the area was 14.5" for one foot and 15" for other foot, a biometric detail that's common but overlooked often in most living vertebrates
  4. Measured pace was estimated 3.85 miles per hour Humans normally walk at 3.1mph average
  5. "The suggestion that this is merely an average man (70 inches tall) in a fur suit is untenable"
  6. "The values presented in this paper have greater precision and accuracy, with only a relatively small margin of error due in part to photographic perspective. This margin is insignificant relative to the absolute scale of the proportions we are dealing with."

Thing has life like mammaries, muscular vascularity, authentic biometrics (one foot 14.5" the other 15") an estimated 94" height conservatively.

there can be no absolutes here. Only probability
were two cowboys capable of a hoax this complicated?

Exactly I pointed that head movement on the first page I Your point about not being able to see is a good one
You would expect some jerkiness in the movement but there is not during any part of the video

you'll notice a bald area close to the right side rib cage.
Researchers believe that is an area of wear from the creatures elbow constantly rubbing the area during years of walking around. The arm swing is actually right on top of this area if you look closely

Both guys described the creature in a state of contempt Not aggressive anger but the feeling like they disturbed something while it was in the middle of doing something
and it was mad it had to leave

it's obviously a very heavy walker

something jeff meldrum said about castings that he has taken is that one casting alone is very hard to fake but when you see multiple tracks that cover varying substrates each faked track would have to be a work of art to pull off.

its just not tenable for a set of tracks over 100 yards that will only last a few days before weather removes them could or would be pulled off by a set of artist hoaxers and left where few people ever venture to go.

jeff meldrum is convinced that the tracks alone, that show injuries and misaligned healing from those injuries, that sometimes show dermal ridges when they are found in the right substrate, and that show great diversity over a set of tracks as the feet navigate changing terrain are enough to warrant serious investigation and theorizing that these beings are really out there.

here dr jeff meldrum goes into detail about the topic of bigfoot, tracks, castings and how a specific bias later proven wrong caused the entirety of the scientific community to dismiss bigfoot sightings specificaly the patterson gimlin footage-- biases that later were corrected and pointed to the probability of the patterson gimlin footage being real.

25:00 min in he discusses the Patterson footage.

You're passing judgment on a black and white negative exposure. You're going to have strange contours under these circumstances.

here's a color:
Planet of the Apes suits back then had uniform hair coverage
They didn't have details like a 'ridgeback' shown here you can also see a large right deltoid, indications of right triceps, and buldging lat dorsi muscle in this frame

The fact is it is impossible to walk like that without peripheral vision. Even today, look at The Dark Knight for instance. Batman's suit restricted Bales peripheral vision so he has to completely turn his body to adjust his sight, it is quite evident in scenes and Bale even spoke about the difficulties with the suit. That's a 100 million dollar modern day hollywood movie... People really think a couple farmers by passed that in 1968? I don't think so tbh.

Another factor is the neck movement, there is no fucking way that is a head piece, it turns to naturally.

The more I look into this the more I am starting to believe we are looking at a Big Foot here...

The thing that blows my mind is when they digitally enhanced the footage to beyond what was originally disseminated it still looked realistic.
It actually looks better slowed down and stabilized which is counterintuitive to the thinking that Patterson shook the camera to obscure the subject

the way you see the muscles in the legs flex and the fascia and fur shake on the pgf is pretty striking. i mean, that looks exactly like a real leg covered in fur flexing and absorbing the impact of the footfall. there is nothing fake about that at all. the breasts are also very convincing.

i cant remember the specifics but the body morphology between torso and legs is said to lend legitimacy for the footage by meldrum. he said a specific falsehood going around in the anthropology of the day caused a leading scientist to discredit the film, but it was based on a falsity that was later debunked.

Ive never really looked at this video all that much before.

but that right leg, on its second step, u can clearly see The muscles absorb the impact of the step. Plain as day.

can anyone please provide an explanation of that?

Most likely because the video was recently stabilized and filtered to provide the enhancements that weren't noticeable before.

MK Davis is responsible for these enhancements.

Keep in mind, that even if neoprene (wetsuit material was available back then, it wouldnt have provided the level of vascularity shown in the spot you noticed. Nothing skin tight would really do that if you think about it. Pretty much any covering masks the level of detail shown in that clip. You can even see a thigh hernia on that last step (iliotibial band) Also, Focus on the area directly behind the knee when it takes the last step. Truly a wtf moment

Yoga pants would work possibly to show that leg movement. Problem is putting hair on delicate material like that . The other thing is that it wasn't around back then.
