Overrated movie you've ever seen?

Off the top of my head,

The Dark Knight Rises
Interstellar
The Shape of Water
Captain America Civil War
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Baby Driver
Star Wars Rogue One

Dont get me wrong theyre good movies. But the way people talk about them as if theyre these groundbreaking maasterpieces is laughable

Avatar was overhyped. When it came out people made out it to be some original masterpiece.

Pulp Fiction - Great movie, but those who say its the GOAT are delusional.

It's one of the best. Top ten for certain, it changed how films are made and warped culture.

Requiem For A Dream - Trash.

Ellen Burstyn gave one of the best performances I have ever seen. The rest of the film was pretty mediocre. I resent the film because it had a sex scene with Jennifer Connelly that actually managed to turn me off.

Scarface - People that have watched this movie multiple times over and have memorized everything about it are mysteries to me.

This film has aged miserably.

There Will Be Blood - Besides DDL's great performance, I don't see any other redeeming qualities.

Fight me.

Backdoor Sluts 9 - Not near as good as the previous eight, or the prequels, or spinoffs.

Try it with the Norwegian subtitles.

Nope, not going through all of the replies, i know my jimmies are about to get rustled.

That said, Black freakin' hawk down. One of the most stupid pieces of shit movies i've seen to this day.

What why. That movie was so good it's used as a training video for certain scenarios at IBCT at Ft. Benning. (Infantry School)

Watchmen. Too much hype that didn't meet my expectations.

What about you my fellow Sherdoggies?

Watchmen is a great pick.

I would probably choose Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Other honorable mentions:

Crash
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

No Country for Old Men. It's very highly regarded and I had high expectations, but it's just a silly slasher flick.

There will be Blood. The first half of the movie was intriguing, but then it totally fell off the rails. I had a hard time even finishing it.

I'm open to the possibility that I'm missing something with either of these films, or they're over my head or whatever

Wave after wave of them go dying bcs of one person. Maybe I missed the point of the movie due to my mood that day, but it felt pointless.

Black Panther. I am not a huge comic book guy, but this was far from the best i have seen. i mean it wasnt bad, but going in i thought it was going to be on some citezen kane level.

A Most Violent Year is the only movie that made me legit angry not just annoyed. First of all, that fucking title is a huge lie. Second, the pace is just painful. Third, boring story and nothing really happens. Fourth, main actor has an extremely punchable face. The wife is awful too. Five, it's not a mafia movie! Six, it's not a good movie either. It's has a nice photography but that's it. The hype for this one was soooo big and for the wrong fucking reasons it made me angry.

Captain America: Winter Soldier

that movie was hot fucking garbage. nothing but explosions every 5 seconds like a michael bay film, trash.

Shit i gotta agree that movie was not anything memorable.

Recently, for me.

The Revenant
Its a very pretty movie but the long nature scenes with no dialogue and Leo just sceaming for 2 hours had me sherdogging in the theater
Enternal Sunshine
Locke
Blade Runner 2049, fuckin terrblible

The Dark Knight. 3 hour Batman movie? Lol. The first hour and a half are really special but it just drags. Ive tried to watch that shit 50 times and i always lose interest.

Rouge One.

Never been able to finish it. I can never even get close. That movie blows
