Rewatch Overeem destroying Pavlovich

You are more delusional than I assumed.

What is there to be unsure about? There were moments in both fights I referenced where there could have been a definitive finish. That was not the case for Stipe and Overeem. Merely attempting a guillotine is not equivalent to finishing someone.

Also, you need to actually start watching fights other than when Dagestanis fight. You are literally making up what happened to fit your narrative. Ortega knocked Volk down before attempting a guillotine. Also, if you want to talk about the stats in the first round, Overeem landed 9 strikes while Stipe landed 34 while Volkanovski landed 30 while Ortega landed. You can talk about damage all you want but you are comparing the power of a 250 pound kickboxer to a 145 pound submission specialist.

Not sure why you're calling me delusional since before the guillotine Stiped got dropped by a punch and was rocked. Suppose that Ortega in the first round knocked Volk down and went for that guillotine then Volk gets out of it and TKOs him in the same round. Would you honestly say "Volk destroyed Ortega" ?

Did I hurt you or say something wrong?

Sorry, not everyone is required to ride on Pavlovich's nuts.
Part of the spice of life is for someone to have a legit counter-opinion.
My counter-opinion is legit.

I have the right to be "not impressed with his performance" ...

I will admit, dude seems scrappy, and heavy-handed, but so far he has only fought people who hide and cover-up.

The one time Pavlovich faced another fighter, who hunted him, he fell apart.

Why do you find this TRUTH offensive? Did you not watch the video?

Just because I'm not riding on the Pavlovich bandwagon, does not mean my criticisms are inaccurate.
Ok Boomer

Crazy how much bigger Pav looked.

At one point Reem looked as bigger as Brock

Taked down and pounded by Reem in round?

I doubt he could beat Stipe.

Among combat sports fans Overeem is very well respected and I think a lot of regular Dutchies know him aswell, but definitely not everyone in our country.
I feel like he’s getting embraced by (hardcore) combat sports fans here, but imo there’s no such thing in the Netherlands where athletes are “national-heroes” like for example in Morocco or Brazil. Unfortunately Dutchies ain’t like that so much (though I’m a huge fan myself!).

For example when Peter Aerts won the K-1 WGP back in the day almosy no one knew about it, while at the same time he couldn’t walk across the streets in Japan without getting recognized. I’m glad times have changed and athletes get more love around here, but I feel like it’s still not on the same level as in other countries.

@Iroh what do you think?
I see. Good to know that's changing quite a bit nowadays.
Reem deserves all the accolades!

I don't think its "cowardly" so much as Reem did not deal with being hustled well, he liked to have time and space to pick his shots from the outside.

Again I suspect a big issue here is Sergei was thrown into a very big fight on UFC debut and looked rather star struck, Reem would always be a counter threat to him but I think he gave him way too much respect.
Pav did seem a bit uncomfortable

Never watched this fight. Pav looked noticeably tentative maybe even intimidated by Overeems striking early... then Overeem hurt him bad with those knees to the body... by the time it hit the ground I think Pav just wanted to go home.

Yes, exactly.

Pav looks great when fighting "voluntary betas" ... but he quickly became one himself, as soon has he became "the hunted" by a man who wasn't afraid of him.

Gave up the ghost in less than one round.

Stipe destroying Overeem ...

good point...pav looks more top heavy, why he was tossed on his back, while, Stipe looks more center heavy and able to move forward better or not be but on his back. Stipe probably matches up better vs JJ but he is older now.

It was Pav first UFC fight and they gave him a killer veteran.

You can see he was hesitant to let his hands go.

Even Cormier got star struck when he fought Anderson.

Training is training though.

I watched James McSweeney on several occasions fucking toy with top 10 UFC fighters at Xtreme Couture. I mean they couldn’t do shit. He was Thai tripping and setting up things they had never seen. Absolutely toying with them and it was not on purpose, he was trying to teach them on how he was catching them. McSweeney is a great dude and the savage i saw in the gym would be HW contender no doubt. Seems he just couldn’t get things going in the cage when it counted.

it's literally been a longer period of tine from his loss to Reem to now than from his first fight to that loss. Are we STILL holding his UFC debut against him?

Its Stipe Struve all over again.

words like destroy and dominate are often used by the retarded or the blind.

both terms, and many others, are overused to the point of cringe on this karate forum.
