Rewatch Overeem destroying Pavlovich

words like destroy and dominate are often used by the retarded or the blind.

both terms, and many others, are overused to the point of cringe on this karate forum.
I guess they destroyed their minds and had their eyes dominated… bisping in a nutshell

I think you should really watch fight again. The whole fight. UFC Fight Pass.

Overeem literally ran, like a jogger.

No one does that as an Alpha Male.

It's true, Overeem landed the right that put Stipe down.
But he couldn't do shit with it.

Within seconds, Overeem was running away from Stipe again, until you get absolutely obliterated and finished on the floor.
Wtf is this lol.

If dude got pummeled for 5 rounds, or beaten into a pulp for 3 rounds and finished, then yes, he got destroyed.

But in this case, Reem almost finished Stipe, knocked him down on his a** and got finished in the same round lol.

watch his 1st fight with Sergei Kharitonov
Done. Wow, I only remember their other fight. I haven't seen all of Pride. Was not expecting that at all. Just got fucking worked. Lol. <{anton}>

Stipe destroying Overeem ...

How insecure is your ass that you need to post this ?
You're rightfully getting blasted in this thread for this idiotic post.
Stop being such a hater. Grow up, sweetie.
Confident men don't respond the way you did.

two things:

1) calling Overeem a coward is trolling. guys like him and Arlovski are fighter's fighters

2) if you watch Pavlovich's earlier fights in Russia before coming to UFC, you will notice he was comparatively more tentative. knockout power, yes, but still more tentative by comparison. the loss to Overeem and the subsequent time off clearly made him rethink his approach to fighting and he decided to just go forward and use his reach, pressure and power to bully his opponents. Even from the Overeem fight if you notice early on in the fight he through a right hand from practically half way across the octagon that pushed Overeem back through the guard. that is Pavlovich's bread and butter

None of which changes what i said. Stipe had his brain rattled vs Reem. Just saying Stipe didnt "destroy" reem.

Yes he did destroy him. Overeem knocked him down. Rest of the fight was Stipe bullying forward and knocking him out unconscious.

And Reem dominated Pavlovich. Pavlovich was young, debut.

All 3 great fighters. I always say different nights different fights.

"destroy" means different things to different people I guess. Destroy always meant completely one sided to me. Definitely not a short fight where one guy almost loses and comes back.

He only landed one punch and backed up the whole fight. Ran from him. Body language scared and Stipe dominant. Stipe took the shot like a boss. Overeem ran from him.

Too many wars. I wanted Reem to win the belt.

I wouldn't say he "destroyed" Pavlovich. Until the takedown, things were fairly even, with Pavlovich perhaps even getting the better of the few striking exchanges. But once he was on his back, he didn't seem to have anything - no attempts to scramble up, not even a thought for truly intelligent defense beyond just covering up.

I suspect Jones would absolutely have his way with Pavlovich. What's Sergei's path to winning, anyway? It sure isn't outwrestling Jones or knocking him out. And I don't give him a great chance of getting inside Jones's reach, either.

Yeah the heavyweight division sucks so these guys get elevated fast. I thought Blaydes would be able to do the same and all he did was shoot twice. Pavlovich has undoubtedly improved since then, but he hasn't beaten anyone aside from Blaydes to really prove it.

I would assume that this version of Pavlovich would have been more aggressive and tried to get Reem out of there. He looked tentative and raw in their fight.

Not sure why you're calling me delusional since before the guillotine Stiped got dropped by a punch and was rocked. Suppose that Ortega in the first round knocked Volk down and went for that guillotine then Volk gets out of it and TKOs him in the same round. Would you honestly say "Volk destroyed Ortega" ?
Yes. The more you speak, the more you sound delusional. I am genuinely convinced I'm speaking to someone with a two digit IQ.

I literally gave you the stats that Stipe hit Overeem more while getting hit less compared to Volk (Ortega hit him 16 times). This is superior even when you don't consider that Stipe was able to get the finish in that first round. Don't talk about what could have happened. What you described happened in the third round. Volk was knocked down like Stipe did and was put into a guillotine and he was actually close to getting finished.

You can blame this on "oh your take on the word destroy is different from mine" all you want. Fact is, you don't even know what you are talking about. Take the L.

Pav fought horse meat ubereeem

There was no Übereem anymore after the Lesnar fight. But Pav fought a late prime Übereem. A good version of Reem and it was his debut. That's great for his only loss.

Among combat sports fans Overeem is very well respected and I think a lot of regular Dutchies know him aswell, but definitely not everyone in our country.
I feel like he’s getting embraced by (hardcore) combat sports fans here, but imo there’s no such thing in the Netherlands where athletes are “national-heroes” like for example in Morocco or Brazil. Unfortunately Dutchies ain’t like that so much (though I’m a huge fan myself!).

For example when Peter Aerts won the K-1 WGP back in the day almosy no one knew about it, while at the same time he couldn’t walk across the streets in Japan without getting recognized. I’m glad times have changed and athletes get more love around here, but I feel like it’s still not on the same level as in other countries.

@Iroh what do you think?
I was in Amsterdam a couple weeks ago and talking with a bartender. I asked him if overeem would be recognized walking down the street. He said he would, but not many Dutch people would.
