None of which changes what i said. Stipe had his brain rattled vs Reem. Just saying Stipe didnt "destroy" reem.

Not to mention clearly felt the tap as well.

Wow!!

@Stone Golem is losing his mind. This guy is posting threads on this Segeri/Overeem fight from over 5 years ago because everyone is pointing out simple flaws in his logic.

My friend @Stone Golem you need to get help.

It's amazing how many deviants can't stick to the point(s).

Point 1: Pavlovich ain't all that -- got decimated by Overeem (outclassed on every level, finished in Round 1).
Point 2: Overeem ran from Stipe, like a coward ... and got beat TF down, also on the ground, in Round 1,

MORAL?: Pavlovich has only beaten scrubs, the WORST of the UFC .... to call him "elite" is a fogging joke.

The only thing that is a joke and a complete one is your logic and overall understanding of this sport.

There is something wrong with you buddy.

Overeem was Pavlovich 1st fight

He has improved a lot

Yeah and RDA got finished by Jeremy Stephens and later became a UFC champion, what's your point?
I doubt Jeremy Stephens could beat Pavlovich.
Though he is the hardest hitting FW on the planet.

Your words carry absolutely no weight. I wouldn't call Overeem a coward but Stipe destroyed him. Stipe chased him with his guard down and he paid the price. That's not almost losing a fight and coming back.

Ortega almost finished Volkanovski. Oliveira almost finished Ferguson. This was not the case for this fight. Saying Stipe was almost losing then came back is like saying Khabib almost lost and came back to beat Poirier. Both Overeem and Poirier were dominated.

Fact is Stipe made Overeem show his back and run for his life as soon as the fight started. Even Badr Hari couldn't do that.

"cowardly" my ass.
Careful using that word with anyone that steps in the cage for a living.

I don't think its "cowardly" so much as Reem did not deal with being hustled well, he liked to have time and space to pick his shots from the outside.

Again I suspect a big issue here is Sergei was thrown into a very big fight on UFC debut and looked rather star struck, Reem would always be a counter threat to him but I think he gave him way too much respect.

Yep.

Yet Overeem, acknowledging Stipe's superiority (by running) ... walked Pavlovich down, threw him down, and KO'd him on the canvas in Round 1.

Meanwhile, Stipe ran Overeem down, took him down, and KO'd 'Reem on the canvas in Round 1.

Anyone who therefore thinks Pavlovich is some "mandatory challenger" is daydreaming.

Pavlovich is a can crusher at this point; he's not elite.

The Ortega fight lasted 5 rounds so a lot more happened in favor of volk and volk didn't take damage in the submission attempt whereas in the stipe vs overeem it was only 1 round and both fighters had their moments although stipe obviously had the bigger moment but he didn't "destroy" overeem.

Not sure why you brought up oliveira vs ferguson since that was one sided and ferguson showed nothing to make it close.

Does OP ever not have a yellow card?

Did I hurt you or say something wrong?

Sorry, not everyone is required to ride on Pavlovich's nuts.
Part of the spice of life is for someone to have a legit counter-opinion.
My counter-opinion is legit.

I have the right to be "not impressed with his performance" ...

I will admit, dude seems scrappy, and heavy-handed, but so far he has only fought people who hide and cover-up.

The one time Pavlovich faced another fighter, who hunted him, he fell apart.

Why do you find this TRUTH offensive? Did you not watch the video?

Just because I'm not riding on the Pavlovich bandwagon, does not mean my criticisms are inaccurate.

You are more delusional than I assumed.

What is there to be unsure about? There were moments in both fights I referenced where there could have been a definitive finish. That was not the case for Stipe and Overeem. Merely attempting a guillotine is not equivalent to finishing someone.

Also, you need to actually start watching fights other than when Dagestanis fight. You are literally making up what happened to fit your narrative. Ortega knocked Volk down before attempting a guillotine. Also, if you want to talk about the stats in the first round, Overeem landed 9 strikes while Stipe landed 34 while Volkanovski landed 30 while Ortega landed. You can talk about damage all you want but you are comparing the power of a 250 pound kickboxer to a 145 pound submission specialist.

How does time work? How do styles work?

More recently Pavlovich destroyed Blaydes who beat Overreem.

If Pavlovich were scheduled to fight Stipe tomorrow he would be the favorite because Stipe is old and looked washed up in his last fight. No one is eternally the hunter or the hunted. As a bitter old man on a karate forum you should understand this.
