I think it‘s because mirrkans have jaded palates from all the taste enhancers, salt, sugar and all the ethnic foods competing for semi fast food over there. They can‘t even taste food unless it’s super seasoned chili stuff anymore.

Im sure those who have voted haven’t tried every cuisine.

A cultured man would know Mexican is much MUCH more than Tacos (Tacos is lowest end ) and American is much more than Burgers (amusing at lowest end) best of American is Southern BBQ) and yes Southern BBQ competes with any cuisine in world - I get hating everything American is cool - but BBQ is the truth.

Not Iranian. I like Turkish tho. No where near as good as Mexican imo. Is/Iranian any different than typical Middle Eastern? I like that too especially the chicken you get atcthose Mkddle eastern grocery stores that's amazing on grill.

Huuuuge variaaaations. Yes you would may find a few dishes or starters that overlap but nevertheless they are different. The grill is similar but Turkish food is prevalently grill. If you go to an Iranian, Kurdish, Iraqi avoid the grilled food and go for something else.

Not sure if it's been brought up before in all these threads but Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food are getting shafted by having so many countries dilute their votes.

Not enough people are going to know the small differences between Egyptian, Moroccan, Lebanese, etc., food so they end up getting their asses kicked. But an umbrella Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food category would do better.

We have the same good taste!

And the winner of course will be Italy. What food from north to south! Poor or rich, everyone can partake in simple and cheap dishes with as few ingredients as possible that taste wonderful. There is something about the sun shining over the country and giving the tomato a fantastic taste like no other.

I think you often end up with two questions here, how good the very best of a cuisine can be and how good the general standard of food in a country is.

Italy for example I think does very well on the second as well as the first, you can turn up to some village were 2/3rds the houses are abandoned and 30 people live there and get exellent food.
