Ongoing Team Lloyd Irvin Scandal - Part 6

It's tough to say. Usually defendants want a jury trial, but sometimes they think they will have a better chance with a judge. I have no idea what his reasoning is.

You choose a judge if you have the law on your side, jury if you have societies morals/sympathy on your side.

I would also go with the judge, it would be easier to convince him of reasonable doubt.

Is there cliffs on the whole saga? I remember report about 3 guys having sex with a drunk chick in lloyds garage while lloyd watched because he couldn't perform when it came out initially, but that's it.

Lloyd was very clear that he was the master of SEO strategies and would eventually bury all the negative internet information. There is a lot of gaming by LI Internet assassins to push other threads on forum above this one. Obviously much easier for Lloyd to accomplish if this is the only allowed thread. It is thus critically important to keep this particular thread alive and prominently at top of grappling forum.

Weirdly enough it looks like he might not even have had the choice here because this is in DC court.

Pretty much everywhere else the vast majority of criminal trials like this will be by jury unless the defendant chooses a bench trial. But I guess in DC they construe the right to trial by jury as narrowly as they can without violating the Constitution, which means that almost all their misdemeanors are tried by a judge. Apparently if the max punishment is 6 months in jail or less per charge (what it is for these sexual abuse charges), then there is no right to a jury trial. That's not the case in Virginia or any other state I've lived in, but I guess DC is not a state so it's weird.

Either way he's scheduled for a bench trial in July. It should be a lot faster than the jury trial was last time, and the ruling will probably follow the letter of the law very closely whether it's guilty or not guilty.

So, anyone want to speculate on reception of Lloyd and TLI at Pans. We will undoubtedly see a few defiant LI gang signs. Does anyone care anymore?

How do you suggest that they prosecute him?

go to their local police department and tell them that he forces his students to rape other students

idk, im not the one making a big fucking deal out of this nonsense that should have died a long time ago, you know.

4 unsatisfied federal tax liens and counting. At some point you either have to go with the guilty of evasion defense, or the I'm a dumbass and bankrupt defense. I wonder which is the more palatable. Justice may not be swift, but it is coming. Oh, and LMAO because LI defenders and Internet assassins always seem to add that to their posts. More like giggling village idiots.

That's not a way you can prosecute somebody. That's a way you can get the police to visit that person and make their own determinations, but it isn't a way you can start a criminal proceeding or to start a civil lawsuit (that won't get tossed for being frivolous right away).

Plus it was already done over a year ago. The police could not find enough to go on.

Curious to know why this is the only allowed thread. Are there lawsuits pending somewhere because no one was ever convicted of anything? I see a #5 through the search function. I have no affiliation either way, just curious since I'm new to BJJ and this seems a hot button topic. As a woman I've had friends who were raped (I believed them), and was once friends with two girls who falsely accused men of rape (I was at the parties they claimed to have been raped at and know it was consented to) so this stuff goes either way for me and if you're not there you just don't know.

The "no one was ever convicted of anything" part is still pending. Schultz still has a trial in July before a judge on two sexual abuse charges. That part got glossed over by pretty much all the news of the acquittals, but there is still a solid chance that it ends up proven in court beyond a reasonable doubt that the NYE victim was sexually assaulted.

Prosecutor hedged his bets and didn't file all the complaints he could have in the first trial?
