Then this is really an argument based on semantics. One side says body weight means only body as weight, the other says particular types of exercises and any of their weighted derivatives. The latter kind of causes a problem though. Where does something like a squat fit in? There are body weight squats and power lifting squats. Both pretty much follow the same motion. The difference is in the added weight.
