Charles seems to prefer to wade in close and exchange inside striking distance. I don't see that as a viable gameplan against a guy that punches like Topuria does.
 
It wouldn't surprise me all that much. Worse strikers with less power have sat Ilia on his ass. Wouldn't surprise me if Ilia wins by knockout either. To be honest, the only thing would surprise me is one of them pulling a Randy vs Vera and gluing to that fence.

With you all the way. I love Charles, and want him to win for various reasons, but . . . I'm getting pre late-career Big Nog, Fedor, Mir or Chuck vibes. . . yeah they can definitely win. . . but if they get hit even once. . . I'm goin got be on the edge of my seat the whole fucking fight guaranteed. Ilia is dangerous for anyone and at all times/with each punch.
 
Do we have science on Topurias chin?
Any situation where he takes a good punch?

Charles is one of my favorite fighters so I am bias as fuck admittedly…. With that said every single time he fights it’s a shot of adrenaline in the fucking neck. He is very very good in every single facet of the fight and I actually think this matchup is a good fight for Charles. His striking from distance with boxing and beautiful teeps can definitely put Top on the back foot and his clinch game has been looking fantastic. I can see him hurting Top on the feet badly and snatching up a TD from clinch as he backs him towards the cage or rocking him then snatching up a sub.

Charles has more finishes than any UFC fighter in the history of the organization. I’m hoping this fight marks #21! People need to put some fucking respect on DO BRONX name!!!

He's taken some good punches and a big head kick and survived. Oliveira doesn't quite have one hit KO power either. So if Topuria somehow gets rocked he might be able to wrestle his way out of trouble and just stall until he can recover.
 
I mean if Felder can grind Olivera out in his prime, I'm sure a prime Topuria could wrestle out a win against an Olivera closer to 40.

Standing would make the fight fun, but Topuria has his magic matador power and momentum on his side. He's not one to slug it out, but snipe. He won't give away his striking defense like Chandler/Gaethje/Dustin did.

I feel like it's Olivera's best shot at a title but the odds are still stacked against him. All I know is it should be fun while it lasts.
