Had the article said the opposite and I posted it along with the words “the Series X is one cool customer” I wonder if that would have been dismissed.

High end hardware dispels heat.. colour me surprised. lol.

If this becomes a widely reported issue among the hundreds of "test" consoles that have been sent to media.. concern should be expressed, but atm it's limited to 2 people.

In standby mode or playing BC games and it’s working that hard? It’s not even being taxed with a next-gen title. Situation should bear monitoring.

Stick to what you know, dilettante. The XSX is significantly more powerful than the PS5 running on identical architecture. It is a reality of physics that it will generate more heat. This is unavoidable, and offers zero bearing on "overheating".

He holds the SSD in his hand, and he comments that it's hot. I know you guys are console gamers, and don't know anything about hardware, but NVMe SSDs are not designed to be held in the hand immediately after use, LOL. That's like deciding to pick up and hold the CPU right after it's been running a benchmark. Even older Gen3 SSD will get up to and exceed the boiling point 100C (212F) under load.

This is pure gold. Made my day.

I’m talking about the SSD which apparently is heating up while in standby. And according to the “debunked” thread you posted, the majority of people are expressing concern that it’s doing that.

Maybe it’s nothing, but what’s even better is you’d be all over it if the PS5 was showing any issues remotely close to this.

The console wars are really heating up! Lol
