None of this makes any sense. I regret this purchase. I wanted Nioh 3, not "We Have Sekiro At Home"

I just feel like they are reskins at this stage

Reskins of what? Every single souls game has a distinct look. As with Nioh and Wo Long. Had you put Wo Long in front of me without telling me it was Team Ninja and asked me who I developed it, I’d know right off the bat.

Im a couple of hours in and loving it so far. Wish the Dual Halberds have a faster attack speed. But having them greased up in flames make for some pretty gameplay.

Left off at the first official boss. I can get to the second phase easily enough, but then he wrecks me. I'm still figuring some stuff out though. There are a lot systems at play, that I'm sure of the importance yet. I really wish there was an option(is there one?) to get rid of your useless partner. He does nothing but work as a distraction, that more often than not just fucks up your rhythm.

Pretty good so far, but I hope the level design is a bit more intuitive in the future. Maybe it was just me(I was playing pretty late with a beer buzz), but I swear, I ran in a big circle for what seemed like a hour, before I finally clued in on the right path. I got hung up on that cat beast, thinking that was the natural area to progress past. Nah, it's just an optional area with a sub boss. Fuck, did that ever trip me up, but I did get a lot of practice in on that cat at least, LOL.

This shit is legit boring. I spoiled so I know I'm close to beating the first boss but it's not even fun at this point. Parrying regular attacks doesn't do enough spirit damage imo

Made it past the fourth zone or level, whatever you want to call it. Cat dudes are like a standard enemy now so I’m glad I got familiar with that first one lol.

I’m relying too much on dodging certain enemies which is frustrating me. Need to get in the pocket and parry these jabronis into oblivion. Also, magic enemies are annoying and probably will stay that way as I completely neglect my magic.

I have no doubt I will completely ignore a major mechanic in magic and just brute force my way through the game going melee only.
Downloaded this today. Probably gonna do the same as i prefer a straight up melee fight. Thinking i might just use utility spells like damage up etc.

Have you felt the need to use much magic at all?

I’ve been mostly forgetting about it so no not yet. If I do it’ll be like you said and use it for buffs. Stage four introduces the magic system a bit more in depth. You’re able to counter certain enemies with a magic element that they’re weak to.

Ok I beat the first boss. I've put most of my levels into wood so far.

I’ve been able to coast through pretty much without much trouble until I hit a level that is classic Team Ninja BS. This is what I’ve been missing.

Im guessing the partner and being able to add multiple is somewhat like a spirit summons. You can guide them to attack enemies and kind of makes some of them trivial. @HereticBD theres an item I believe that boots them out.

Which level? I’m at 6 now.

Boss in stage six was kicking my ass. First real difficulty I’ve felt so far. Just could not get the timing and every hit took off a quarter of my health so not much room for error. Downed it and now it seems like pretty much all of the mechanics are unlocked now so I’m sure there’s a lot of game left.

The sewer / jail level.

Just so many enemies in a cramped area. Lots of death traps as well. I’ve spent longer in certain Nioh areas but this one took the longest. Once I got it down I was farming, but at first, it was a doozie.

Oh ok, sounds like you’re a good amount ahead of me then. Looking forward to it lol.

Stage 3 boss was really cool. Liked the music in it as well. I stopped right at the beginning of 4. Sadly don’t have a lot of time anymore.

This game is awesome, the parry timing is consistent, it all makes perfect sense. Definitely don’t regret this purchase.
<Huh2>
DSP himself has confirmed the parry input dropping. Game is also all rocks and shit. Levels are boring.

I'll stop posting itt until I enjoy the game. Which may be never.
