What Virtue did you end up going with? I'm still debating. Fire is what I'll probably jump at but Metal and Earth both look great.
Im doing a mix, but earth/wood seems dangerous. There's a wizardry where you get hyperarmour in earth, and a wizardry where you get health for every hit in wood. Basically deploying them, you could just spam attack on everyone.

Nice, decided to preorder so it’ll be here tomorrow. Been a year since Elden Ring so a new soulslike is more than welcome, especially from Team Ninja.

One thing I found kind of interesting was changing the language to Chinese given that’s its setting. Not a language I hear very often so it was actually kind of refreshing and fit really well with the game. I’ll probably do my play through that way as well.
what is the excitement for Soul's games? I played a few and was lie ''meh, it's okay''

always like this kind of theme though

Never even heard of this, just checked out a gameplay video looks great.

If I hadn't just started Yakuza Like A Dragon Id buy this now.

Restarted my play through and found a level 15 cat man that I completely missed in the starting area. Love those high level random enemies in the starting area lol.

I'm restarting because apparently i rushed the boss in the demo and missed a bunch of shit. People have spells and stuff unlocked by the time they get to the boss and I don't have shit.

For me, it's earned exploration of a crazy fantasy world, and the typical RPG growth mechanics. It's hard to explain, but they really make you feel the progress you're making. It makes you feel like a baby growing into a warrior, that is just discovering new worlds and challenges, and they don't disappoint on the exploration. It's just so tight. Every new area you unlock that you bust your ass to do, always gives you a sense of wonder. The art direction in those games is the real unsung hero, because without it, it wouldn't be worth the pain.

Anyways, I tried this out on the cloud for a tiny bit. Can't say much, but it seems like a more forgiving "Sekiro". Especially the parry system, which seemed to have a wider window for executing it. I only fought a few scrub enemies, though.

How do you guys find the level design/exploration?

They improved both in Nioh 2, but it's not an area they were strong in overall, especially compared to Souls games.

I love Nioh 2's combat though, and from what I've heard here, outside some bosses where you should parry, you can play like Nioh 2. Worst case you can over-level (or buff?) with their moral system for bosses if you're struggling.

Either way, I'm looking forward to jumping into this once I finsih this damn work thing I keep procrastinating on.

It’s ok. I don’t notice a ton of difference between this and Nioh 2 tbh. They’re small zones with a bit of exploration.

Didnt play Nioh 2, im liking the system that encourages exploration tbh. The level design so far is so much better than Nioh 1 to me tho.

Its also kind of pretty.

There's always a chance of death awaiting around every corner. The Souls formula also plays heavily to people who love to gamble.
I just feel like they are reskins at this stage
