Official Summer Squat Competition

What is your best front squat, Ascendant?

I'll take a handicapped race (percentage of increase?)

My best back squat with belt is 496.

My best front squat is 405.

If you saw the USAPL National Rules meeting, you need to go get some Inzer XT's for Raw Nationals. They decided not to ban them from raw lifting. I've read guys getting 30-40 pounds out of them cranked down.

I gave them a chance to use logic and they failed. What pisses me off is that they didn't just legalize all IPF knee wraps. They are basically forcing everyone to buy Inzer's product. Guys like Eric Talmant who are sponsored by ****l are screwed from competing in the USAPL raw division now, unless they want to give up 40 pounds on their total.

I guess its time to become a gear whore.

Grrr. Stop trying to weezle equipment into "RAW" lifting. Belt, wrist wraps, chalk. Nothing more! If you want to use gear then lift in geared comps. Pretty soon real raw comps will have to make their competitors lift in BBing posing suits (man-thongs) just to negate the posibility of hiding gear or using a type not known to the fed. Though, I'm sure Zop would attend all of those meets as a towel boy.

It's pretty silly really. Gear is everywhere and people will always seek out whatever advantage they can get. Pro Strongman allows deadlift and squat suits now too.

USAPL allows belt, wrist wraps and knee sleeves (not wraps) for there raw divisions (some other org allow knee wraps). What is at issue is a new Inzer knee sleeve. If the USAPL allows certain things for there raw division, then you should use whatever is legal in the comp. We could make the same argument about belts being

Best fs is 500, best bs is 585 no suit, 605x3 with a shit suit.

I'm def not at 500 fs right now though, I haven't been training it. I'll probably do it on Wednesday.

how did you get dubs, BB?

Not quite sure. It was probably when some dude hinted to pm'ing nudes of a poster's whore ex g/f, and I quote his post and said I agree. That's the only thing I can think of that was close to breaking a rule. I try not to over step my bounds on the forums and was pretty pissed that I got dubs for something so stupid.

To Enright: I agree that you should use whatever is legal because everybody else will be and you want to keep up with the other competitors. I just wish raw lifitng as a whole was seen as more black and white and not all this gray area with knee sleeves vs knee wraps and such. And while I would argue that a belt is used for saftey more than numbers, other guys have made the same arguement about other gear so theres really no point.

I agree with you. I would prefer shit like the Inzer XT knee sleeves would not to be an issue. I also don't think a belt is analogous to a squat suit and briefs. A guy a train with sometimes lifts in a double ply orgs and tries to explain that his ****l briefs and squat suits are to "protect" him. I find it laughable. I don't think a load of 200-250+ makes the lift safer. The reason he squats with both briefs and a suit is to get as much out of his gear that the APO allows.

What's the ruling on cheap knee sleves (elasticated white things), I've been using them on my training recently and wanted to know if anyone cares about my using them on my max sets for this comp.
