Official Summer Squat Competition

Winter my best all time squat was 475 in belt and knee wraps. Also the team name is 'Devil's Minions'...in any case I'll start a log for out team.
 
Props to winter for setting this competition in motion.

Good luck in losing weight and setting PRs Zero.

That's totally inappropriate. my catchphrase is "Get Fucked." Team Get Fucked would have been cool, but I couldn't have made an appropriately titled log due to forum guidelines on profanity. Team Pump has an appropriately retro and tongue-in-cheek aspect to it. I think it deserves more than a C+. and at least it's not some lame psuedo-hardcore "death march minions" bullshit.
 
I just want to say that despite the rough start, I'm REALLY excited about this contest. I could really use this motivation to work on my squat. It's kind of embarrasing that I can't hit 405 yet, it's equally embarrasing I can't close the three or bend the red. Do you guys think that KTA, Heavy bending, and the smolov all at the same time might be too much?

Urban, I honestly don't think it is enough. Add in an olympic lifts day and tabata intervals and then maybe you will be good.
 
Urban I have the same problem. Just focus on 1 thing or you'll burn out. Heavy bending is equivalent to heavy deadlifting...this is why I could never progress much without burning out...ditto for grippers...

I have noticed for me intermittent heavy training on grippers and bending produced the best results...

I am lucky if I can bend a blue now...plus I can only bend DU....DO has pwned me...I can barely bend a green DO...makes no fucking sense.....

I'm thinking a mini smolov would be good to work out all the potential gains I have.

I may just work on form with some g5's and 60d's. the 60 pennis fold easy for me now and I have a whole box of them. Maybe some work with the 2.5 but grippers are gonna have to take a back seat for a bit. I don't think they'll suffer much, it hasn't taken much to maintain gripper strength.
 
ah this is gay, i went to mexico for a week and didnt get drafted. can i be an alternate or something?
 
I am sure you can...just post a 1rm and get cracking...I already drafted Cbeeby late so I dont think taking you too would be fair to other teams...but you can appeal to Fatty, Barut, Standard, or Urban to get on one of their teams...

Come on Oib, be serious, you know that's going to be too much on your system, do a squat specialisation if you're serious about getting 405 and put everything else into maintenance mode.

Smolov is fun, do smolov.
