Looks like it never sold out and you can still get it on PS store. Not sure if that's good or bad for Sony since I have no clue how many they made. I guess we will have to wait until the quarterly report to see how console sales did.

I read it sold out in other regions like the UK. I bet USA has the largest stock of the consoles

Should we be expecting any sort of cool announcements from Tokyo Game Show?

I don't think anything major has been announced at TGS for a while now by anyone.
Maybe a release date for a game, or a new trailer of game not much else IMO.

Is there a way to change default location of captured gameplay on the ps5?

My games are all on my secondary ssd but I'm running out of space on the original cause I like to save my gameplay footage a lot. It's just insane if there is no way to change it.

Isn't this an industry standard? Cyberpunk 2077 was dirt cheap until they added a patch and expansion driving the price of the base game up. Nioh was cheap as well and then they resold them as a package for 69.99.

Walmart has Horizon for 24.99 complete edition. Base game is still 20 or less on nearly every outlet. Not really understanding the outrage with this one.

The CP2077 patch was very expensive to develop, nearly 1.5 years with the entire CDPR team working only on it.

With HZD Sony just needed to hardwire some settings from the PC version to be optimized for PS5, and 'POOF... a 'Remastered' version of a loved game Sony worked so hard on... so not only are you paying $10 for the 'upgrade' (when its actually optimization, which XBox offers for hundreds of titles for free) but those that don't own the physical copy or prefer digital (or are getting a PS5-Pro) must pay the new higher price for to download a 7 year old (I think) game.

By the way, I played HZD on PS4... pretty good combat, but otherwise very mediocre in every other aspect. The open world looks beautiful and the concept art is some of the best I've ever seen, but otherwise its completely unremarkable.

While it's not on par with something like Cyberpunk's massive expansion I don't think it's fair to compare it to Xbox giving a performance boost on certain games. It's clearly a step above most of that. They have recorded over 10 hours of new lines, completely updated facial animations, reworked character lighting, etc. There's some substantial changes. I think at the very least the 10 dollar upgrade is fair for the work they've put in.

@Dizzy

Lies of P was confirmed to be one of the games at launch to have PS5 Pro patch. I know you said you bought it recently so you may want to hold off.

And still up for pre-order. I did grab one but that's kind of shocking. PS4 and PS5 were super hard to get and sold out within minutes. I don't really remember how hard the PS4 Pro was to get. I definitely got it day 1 but I don't remember if it was difficult.

Just makes me wonder, were those truly manufacturing problems or is there just not much interest now?

It's not a next gen console that locks you out of exclusive games so there's not as much incentive to buy one like a PS5 or PS6 would. They probably were better prepared for this too, even the website wasn't a completely disaster. Sony said they only expect around 10% adoption rate.

That I did, I’ll definitely hold off. I just cleared the tutorial area.

Damn had no idea. That's like 6 games I have to play on my pro.

Looks like it sold out now.

By the way here's a list of all games with an official PS5 Pro Enhancement that we know of so far. Keep in mind these are the titles with official patches. This doesn't include the many games that will be improved by a boost. We don't know too much about that one yet. I'm glad to see Dynasty Warriors: Origins is here. Very likely to be my first purchase of 2025. I'm really liking what I've been seeing from that game so far. Looks like a massive improvement over the past few entries.

MGS Delta: Snake Eater looking electric; we're in for a treat. Really in the mood myself for a gritty shooter experience. Full hands-on read from PS.Blog homies here:

If there was one final thing that was just as clear as some of Metal Gear Solid Delta’s improvements, it’s how seriously Okamura and the team take the task of reviving Snake Eater. “There’s only pressure all the time, every day,” he says.

“We have a lot of veteran staff at hand but they’re also aging out as well, so it might be the last chance for some of the critical members to work on these titles while they’re still at the company.”

Its really becoming bizarre that there is no release date.

Earlier this year it was looking this good and we all were thinking it's be out by the fall season before Christmas, but it'd be announced by now.

I was thinking it was going to be released on November 17th 2024, which would be the 20th Aniversary of the original game's release.

Ken Kutaragi's keynote from TGS , he shows some tech demos for PS1 and PS2 that weren't public shown before

If you have nothing else to play at the moment it's still worth it. It's probably not going to be a huge difference with the Pro. It's already one of the best optimized third party titles. Might just get quality mode graphics or maybe a FPS boost but as of now it felt like it was locked 60 when I played it.
