Can someone clear this up for me? Does the Pro come with a horizontal stand or did they redesign it to lay down flat on its own?
 
Torn if I want to pick one up anytime soon. Love my PS5 but have migrating a ton of my gaming to PC. Don't really care about the disc drive since most of my game purchases are digital on PS5 or Steam these days anyways.

Was contemplating upgrading my graphics card, but have a 3080ti now and its been able to handle anything I've thrown at it.
 
Everyone talking about the price and lack of disc drive while I'm wondering if it's compatible with the official black cover.

Feel like it was a massively missed opportunity not to have a new game showcase for your most expensive console ever.

Lots of people with not great internet, or families with different tastes. At any rate, 2TB SSDs are a lot more cost effective to buy for a manufacturer than 1TB. Like a lot better bang for buck.

Yeah that presentation sucked. People complained about the hour long technical presentation last time because people couldn't understand what Cerny was explaining but they overcorrected too much with this one. People still have so many questions. I don't really feel like playing the PS5 games that already released. I want to know about what this thing is going to do for recent releases like Space Marines 2 and games coming in the future. I think people want to know if Capcom will work with Sony to make patches for the Pro. Dragon's Dogma 2 has terrible performance mode from what I've been told. Monster Hunter Wilds is rumored to be capped at 30 FPS so having confirmation of a strong fidelity/performance would sell it better. I think the only positive thing I got out of this is that FF7 Rebirth supposedly runs a lot better from the report at CNET. I'd like to go back to that and finish it up, still at Cosmo Canyon lol. Just kind of burned out but I have been wanting to revisit it.

I'll end with this, Sony does need a good show soon. I'm hoping we get a show from them right before the weekend of TGS. I'd like to see either Wolverine or that rumored Venom game make an appearance. I want to see a teaser of a big game like Ghost of Tsushima 2. I want at least one new IP surprise. Preodrers go up September 26 so maybe they have something else to help make people excited.

Propagandistic deception like this is rampant in political coverage.

There's already ALOT to justifiably hate on the PS5Pro for... the price, paying $80 for a disc-drive, $30 for a stand... so implying the side-by-side screenshot isn't for a demonstration of 30FPS (Base PS5) & 60FPS (PS5-Pro) is some bullshit.

Agree. Not every game works but a single failure among however many successes doesn't fail to attract the vultures and trolls re Concord – an unoriginal game deserving of its swift defenestration, all things being equal.

Sony has a double digit number of beloved properties to dust off and reinvigorate for sequels (or remakes where old enough); what I want to see is a higher ratio of attention paid to tested IPs : untested and less focus on gaming peripheral, extras.

Sony has always been diverse, starting in rice cookers and now a world leader in camera image sensors. But I want their gaming arm to stay all about the games and not go full Apple with a suite of well-branded, expensive stuffs.

A lot of titles are cooking right now as 2024 was forecast at a lull owing to development cycles among first-party family.

Weak presentation. I forgot about the Venom thing. What studio was that attached to? And Jin and Co 2 will be a system seller, IMO. Crazy love and even therapeutic play for millions.

Any Marvel game incoming will be Insomniac, also they have rights for the rights to X-Men Games for 10 years to go with the Spidey / Wolverine universe

There are less taxis on the PS5 Pro, bro. Everyone hates being around taxis.

Stop being dishonest, this is totally worth $810 (plus tax). IN fact, I am meeting with my bank today to secure a loan for this purchase.
