They don’t make physical games for PC though, haven’t in over a decade. Nintendo will be the last one to make them and eventually they’ll go away too. It’s either you quit gaming or you accept digital future at this point. Hate to say that but it’s just the reality we’re living in.
I know, exclusives are the main thing still keeping me mostly on the PS5 platform and the second is physical media. With exclusives drying up and physical media disappearing I can’t see many more reasons for sticking around.

its more than that, there's another 96 in a second set for the PS4 version on top of that 125 due to the way the trophy system works on PS4 so its 221 overall

1 Plat, 15 Gold , 61 silver and 144 Bronze
Oh I finally got what you were saying. I downloaded the PS5 base game and the extra DLC that I purchased count as PS4. That's kind of odd but still a ton of trophies.

The marketing for Astro Bot PS5 has been incredible, I really really hope people show up and buy this game next week.

SUPPORT ASTRO BOT! 🫡

That red controller sticks out like a sore thumb. They didn't really have a white and blue one? lol. I know, dumb... but that's the first thing that came to mind.

Not ideal but I guess it’s a solution. The day the get rid of it is the day I go 100% PC.
I’d go full pc if I could but it’s just a mess I have no interest in dealing with anymore.

This thing better have a disc drive.

Yeah, if this doesn’t have a disc drive there’s basically no chance I’ll pick one up. My PS5 is our family blu ray and dvd player. My plan was to sell my launch PS5 for a couple hundred (whatever fmv is for a used PS5) as that would be the only way to justify buying a Pro to my wife, but if the mother fucker isn’t going to have a disc drive that’s a hard pass for me.

Why is this being debated? There's just no way in hell they do a mid gen refresh and take away the ability to play physical games on the same console you've been putting money towards for the last 4 years. The only way they do this is with a completely new console like PS6 or PS7.

Maybe not day 1 but it's a definite for us as well. I hope it has Speed Runs again. We still go back to that to beat each other's records.
Good news man. It's been confirmed to have DLC that adds more stages and speed runs. It will release later this year.

Last post for today regarding Astro Bot. Outlets are now getting review copies and we'll know how the game reviews when embargo lifts on September 5th. Any Metacritic predictions? I'm thinking a score of 88. I think it will be amazing but it won't crack 90 because for some reason platformers don't score as well with reviewers unless it's a Mario game. I truly believe the Nintendo bump is a real thing.

I am here for it. Alan Wake shouldn't be too hard to bring to the big screen but the Atmosphere from Control could be difficult.

Ironically, I think the games come off already like adaptations for films that don't yet exist, ha.

Save for production decision nonsense or terrible director choice, I think these both would make for engrossing, spectacular movies. My piss-myself director pick would be Chris Nolan, Nicolas Refn, or maybe Guillermo del Toro.

After having a lot of fun with Prodeus, now playing this sidescroller called Source of Madness.

Uncanny vibes to first haunting footsteps in Iosefka's Clinic. Art direction is uncommonly – wait for it – artful. So great; it's a whole vibe with some Salt and Sanctuary sprinkled in.

I've had the game in my catalogue for a while but never played it; turns out if's free from Plus and with that wanted to tell you guys about it.

Quick aesthetic check here:

I love these kind of games but I wasn't hyped for this one. I played the last one on PS+ and after 10 hours I just put it down which is very rare for me. The combat and story were all just so basic I had no desire to keep playing it.
I'll probably buy it on a discount. It wasn't that bad but this year is just too crowded, especially the months of September and October.

Unfortunately they also just got shut down. News is breaking that NetEase cut most of their jobs. Really sad to see and the timing could not be worse.

I think Nolan would be incredible for both films. His ability to weave multiple timelines and portraying characters with deep psychological layers is best in class. Refin is a great story teller who also excels at creating a tense atmosphere. David Robert Mitchell (It Follows) wouldn't be a bad pick for Alan Wake. I enjoyed the movie because of its ability to create a pervasive sense of dread through atmosphere rather than relying solely on jump scares. I think it could translate well into an Alan Wake film. Out of all of them though, the visual treat would most certainly come from GDT.

It's been a while since I've seen his movies. Both Pinocchio and Nightmare Alley were great. Miss that guy.

Behind the scenes series on Astrobot with the first episode released today

Trailer is out too, not sure how many are interested in seeing it. I won’t post it to avoid spoilers but it’s on the PlayStation channel. I didn’t have the willpower to not watch but let’s just say it looks ever better than I imagined. Called off work for half a day which I rarely do just to get a few hours in before my kid wakes up.

I really wish it had come out this week, before my kids start the new school year on Tuesday. The timing really sucks as September will be such a busy month basically right out of the gate. Aside from the fact that the kids are back in school, the kids have activities basically every fucking day except Friday: daughtet and wife have Girl Guides on Mondays, ballet and jazz dance class on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, my son and I have cub scouts Thursday, my son has art class Saturday and both kids have swimming lessons Sundays. On top of that September will be a busy month at work for me.

Just read that this morning. Horrible news and very weird considering the game just came out.

Vampire Survivors is out today, I've been interested in that one after seeing Jake Baldino rave about it in his prior year top games of the year. It's also cheap so won't hurt the pocket too much and seems like it has alot of trophies.

I thought the same thing when I heard about this. Same feeling I had when they announced TLOU TV show.
