I'm speaking strictly on the hardware side of the house. I know it's early to jump the gun, but if Xbox does drop out of the console wars I could absolutely see PS raising their prices. Competition is a key driver of innovation and affordability in any market. Shareholders will recognize PS has the market cornered and will ask Sony to take a second look at their console price now that there are fewer alternatives. I'm a big fan of competition and I don't see this as a good thing should it pan out.

I still think there’s enough decent people working there to not completely abandon their fanbase, call me a fanboy or whatever but I remain optimistic. They could have been complacent earlier but they were the only ones to offer actual next gen exclusives at launch and come out with an innovative controller. Pricing people out of hardware is also just a bone headed move. They want a big install base to sell software to. Hopefully I’m right, only time will tell. This is even assuming Xbox is gone. I don’t think they will be

Looks like I was wrong about Helldivers 2 getting reviewed. Some website said embargo was 12PM ET. Heard outlets didn’t get any review codes so it looks like it will launch before reviews. Maybe because servers aren’t up until then. Either way the previews were very positive so I don’t think it’s a red flag.

Bud, so many. Off top of my head: Deadlight, Moonscars, Ender Lilies, Aeterna Noctis, Celeste, FIST, The Ascent (though camera is dynamic so isometric+; very fun Platinum), Blasphemous II... Take your pick.

Dragons Crown was a blast. Also really enjoyed The Messenger. If you liked strider get Canon Dancer Osman, its only 30 minutes long though so get it on steep discount

I mean, these are more in a sword and board or platformer-puzzler vein, TBH. I'll keep an eye out for you and try to remember something with back slashes, wall latching, smoke bombs, traps, and the like. Ninja biz is top, no question. Shuriken-whirling game Shinobi from SEGA was a fave when I was coming up.

You'd think they'd be embarrassed to be represented that way. Look at that latest Fable game. Everyone is mocking that character and rightfully so. She's hideous and in real life she isn't that bad. Same with Horizon, the girl she is based on is really cute but I don't find Aloy nearly as attractive.

Now compare that to a studio like Capcom. In DMC 5 everyone looks cool and you can tell they look like the models they chose with screenshot comparisons. Same with Ashley in RE4 Remake. Great looking girl in real life and also very attractive in the video game. You can actually tell it is her. Not sure why Western studios change them so much. MJ in Spider-Man 2 is far less attractive than the person she's based on.

By the way are you actually getting Stellar Blade?

By the way are you actually getting Stellar Blade?

I'm undecided ATM. The art direction isn't my usual bag and I need learn more about the combat, expressly if it's more button-masher or input-intensive. As I've gotten older, I find more value in memorising strings and chains. I never bought FFXVI after the demo despite loving the VA because of this; I just hit square over and over.

Does watching a film with a less attractive person take you out of it? I’ve never understood this mentality.

I think you said it correctly, these works are only bound by our imaginations so why does everything need to have the same glossy coat that appeals to teenage boys?

You need to play Lies of P. Awesome game but it spoils you because it plays so much better than most other soulslike games. Also don’t sleep on Rollerdrome. It’s Tony Hawk with gunplay mechanics.

Haven't heard of Rollerdome. I'll have to check that out sounds fun. Lies of P has been on my list for a long time just so much came out last year that I still haven't even got to plus 2024 has started off with nothing but game after game I want to play. No clue when I'll even get to it.
