Yeah they're higher end too, it's just strange since Inzone very clearly has the same design language as the PS5. It also would imply that PC gamers are turned off by the PlayStation brand, which I don't think is the case.

Also at times Sony Corp's internal groups are notorious for not talking to each other so i wouldnt be suprised if that was the case with Inzone / PS

I'm glad we got to finally see more of this game. I'm assuming it got pushed back to 2024 with there being no release date but this is definitely a game I'll be picking up.

2024 is already off to a great start. I've been so excited for this title for years and we finally know when it is coming out. They recently let people play this game and there's a longer video showing off some gameplay and boss encounters. If you preorder the game you get to access it 72 hours earlier which puts it out 1/29 instead of 2/1. Never thought I'd say this but I'm hoping that FF7 Rebirth doesn't release until March now.

Anyone else really hyped for this game?

I am, but goddamn it has been delayed so many times that I worry.

Well I don't want a PS Steamdeck cause that's just going to be a weaker system where Sony has to now get their 1st party devs to downgrade games in order to work on that system.

I've used remote play on my steamdeck and it works great at my office. Played a lot of Ghost at the office. So I actually think this would work for people who have time at work during their lunch or maybe they just have a job with lots of free time. I don't think it will sell much but it could be a good product in the future if they get cloud gaming working on it well.

I haven't used a steam deck so I can't comment on the PS Play app, but if that's true it's even worse for the new PlayStation device. Personally, I don't want to spend any money on a device that I can't play games on that aren't downloadable.

Some PSP connectivity clarification for those unclear:

There is some confusion about the PlayStation Portal when it comes to connectivity.

You can use the PlayStation Portal on ANY wireless network, even outside your home.

It does NOT have to be within range of your PS5 as it's not making a direct connection to it, it's connecting via local wireless or via the internet if you're not on the same wireless network.

The only caveat is that your wireless connection is stable and fast enough to stream.

Use case for me and many it seems really is just home/sofa use while the big TV is being used by the family.

How does it work if you’re far away? Doesn’t your PS5 have to be on for this to work?

I know that the app will wake up your PS5 from rest mode and then you can place it back in rest mode like your normally would. I don't think it works if you completely turned off your PS5 though.

Yeah that’s a shame…. I’m going to be out of the country for nearly a month next year and there’s no way I feel comfortable leaving it on, and even if I could the connection would be awful. If this thing had cloud I’d be there day one, they have it on the PC I just think it’s sucks they couldn’t include it on this. I would have loved to knock out some trophies on the go from games like Medievil and other retro titles that have cloud support

You should install the phone app and try it out and see how it works. I always put my ps5 in rest mode I don’t see the point in turning it off.

I got scared from people reporting early firmware rest modes were bricking PS5’s so I got into the habit of turning mine off most of the time.

y worried about sleep mode?? Ain’t gonna burn your house down bro. I think the bricking issue should be fine now. I’ve had my ps5 on sleep mode whenever I power it down since I got it. No issues at all.

This is good news. Might push me to add 1tb to my storage capacity if they’re only allowing you to play games installed. Will wait for reviews but it if pans out I might pick it up.

Sam Lake opens up in clarification in latest IGN interview, saying Alan Wake 2 was delayed across all platforms because it didn't want to compete with PS5's Spider-Man 2. Respect:

Well, we were looking at the week and we were looking at these brilliant, brilliant giant games coming out, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and all, and just felt like, well, we don't have to go neck to neck. We can just kind of shift it a couple of days!

Zube breaks down why PSP hits the spot for him and that it's misunderstood by many as a lacklustre Sony gaming device when it's in fact a home-run Sony gaming extension:

Why PlayStation Portal Is The Perfect Device For Me:

• First what this device is, it’s an accessory to PS5, not a dedicated gaming device like Steam Deck, Switch or ROG Ally! It doesn’t run games on device! It’s crazy how misinformed, bias and ignorant people are. PlayStation: "PlayStation Portal Remote Player is a purpose-built device dedicated to delivering an incredible Remote Play experience. That means you can turn it on, press a button to connect to your PS5 console and get right to playing with remarkable speed."

• What people don't understand is PlayStation doesn't have to develop anything for this device in terms of game development, why waste 2 SKU target/resources when you have an underpowered system compared to PS5, Sony PlayStation thankfully know what they are doing. I and many others don't want 2 SKUs just add to development time and waste resources.

• Sometimes you want to rest and play and not be too focused on what your playing, you could play while watching something in the background and playing at the same time. Relax on the couch and play and not play on the big screen.

• DualSense for me is a game changer and for it to be on Remote Play is a game changer again crucial part of PlayStation Portal. This is the most important part for me and why I’m buying one day 1!

• You can take the device with you anywhere, PlayStation Link will work only in the same Wi-Fi network but I'm ok with that. I can take most of the experience with me on the go and play games even when you are out.

• I can complete more trophies, due to the portability of the device. I don’t need to dedicate specific time to play and game.

• Lack of Bluetooth doesn't concern me at all, again people just like to criticise, Bluetooth has lots of latency for gaming purposes, hence why PlayStation has again made specific Audio devices for PlayStation Portal that are intended for gaming.

• The only downside for me for PlayStation Portal is it's not OLED or 120Hz that's all, apart from that I think it's a near perfect device.

• I understand this device is not meant for everyone (Sony didn’t market it a sole gaming device) and some do not like what it provides, people wanted a dedicated device but as explained above PlayStation should never do this. As I tweeted before I’ll never force anyone to buy something they don’t find value in, on the other hand don’t force me and tell me it’s a not worth it or its just a Remote Play device. Also some of the people who wanted this to be PS Vita 2, they didn’t support it nor cared about a portable PlayStation system.

• Lastly, I can play more games, more often, even complete them quicker and more due to convenience. I think the price is reasonable and a price point that most can buy into. I’m so happy this device exists. I have always wanted a dedicated Remote Play device from PlayStation!

Supposedly Saints Row 2022 is the headliner for PS Plus Essentials next month but the other 2 games aren't confirmed yet

I so regret buying the backbone. Don't get me wrong, it's a good product to allow remote play through phone but if I knew this was coming out I would have waited.

I almost bit on a $15 deal for Saints Row now that its patched up like crazy, glad I waited. If it's dumb fun I'll skip through the cut scenes and have fun.
