Would absolutely love this to become a gaming standard.

Just realise DMG in escalating stages and irrespective of WPN class from nosebleed (internal injuries), to lame leg/mobility/limping gait, then one arm hugging abdomen and slightly hunched when HP critical. Something like that.

Instead of the new genre norm of bosses requiring multiple deathblows to uncreatively bloat difficulty, have each DMG stage introduce new ATKs or speed change-ups, for example, when critical and not unlike a wild animal ferociously fighting for its life at the very end.

Absolutely on board with that. I would think us MMA fans would prefer seeing damage because that’s what we look at a lot of times judging fights. It’s practically ingrained in us. It’s boring to look at a boss you’ve hit with attacks for 15 minutes showing zero damage and they all of a sudden die when their life gauge drops to zero.

Like you mentioned, there’s a lot of ways you can show damage on a boss and even turn it into different mechanics to make it more exciting. All we have right now seems to be different boss stages, but it could be so much cooler.

Im not saying that individual strikes or weapons should have their own damage mark, but you could separate a boss into 3 or 4 different levels and damage would appear for any of the levels hit regardless of weapon type.

I don’t believe SF6 is individually shown. I think it’s just damage accumulated over time and never really changes.

There's been games like though right? Cuphead? Those bosses usually look more tired and beat down as it progresses. Bushido Blade is probably the best example.

I do wish the industry moved away from these super long games. If we look at the games most talked about this year they're stuff like Starfield, Baldur's Gate 3, and ToTK. All great games but I think it is hard to implement that type of system in something with so many different enemy types. The priority there is going to scale and content. I think it would have to be a very cohesive 10 to 15 hour experience where the focus is not on being as big as possible but rather on the small details. I wish we went to that place instead but I'm probably in the minority, it seems the industry loves big games. I constantly hear people complain about paying 70 dollars for a 15 hour game.

More than likely the long rumored "Matter" IP

https://thegamepost.com/sources-bungie-is-working-on-a-moba-esque-game-codenamed-gummy-bears/

Bungie, the developer behind the popular looter-shooter, Destiny and recently revealed Marathon, is working on its third game, codenamed “Gummy Bears,” sources have told The Game Post.

According to multiple sources with knowledge of Bungie’s plans, Gummy Bears is the new game from the Destiny developer that incorporates many elements from the MOBA game genre (Massive Online Battle Arena), featuring a competitive PvP Team vs. Team experience.

It’s clear that the ex-Halo developer is branching out from its classic first-person shooters, like Marathon, Halo, and Destiny, to other genres.

One source tells us that the game features very colorful and “cute” characters. Another person The Game Post spoke to suggested the in-game characters with an almost neon-like appearance.

It’s understood that the game is still in the early stages of development. So, it might be a bit of a wait before we get any official news or announcement for this title. Compared to other, older Bungie titles, this game will definitely be something completely different and a new territory for Bungie.

Blasphemous 2 pre-ordered

<{jackyeah}>
Wish I could be there day one but Armored Core comes out the day after which I already preordered. Amazing time to be a fan of Soulslike though. Blasphemous 2 in August, Lies of P in September, The Last Faith and Lords of the Fallen in October, and then Wukong planning for a summer of 24 release

Right, but not enough. Should be an industry standard. I don't mind long games as long as they're not filled with bloat or pointless side quests.

Granblue Fantasy is now supposedly feb 1. So not this year.

Little Nightmares 3 announced!!!! Let's fucking go!

Solo or co-op this time. If the co-op is strictly with some randomer online then no thanks, but if i can play with my lady next to me then that'd be top tier.

Playstation Link , new Sony wireless audio technology

PlayStation Link, PlayStation’s new wireless audio technology
Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore connect directly with PlayStation Portal by leveraging this new wireless audio technology, PlayStation Link. This innovation delivers low latency, lossless audio and easy switching between multiple PlayStation Link hosts such as PS5 with the USB adapter and PlayStation Portal.

When using Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore with PS5, the USB adapter that’s included with each headset and earbuds is required for PlayStation Link. The PlayStation Link USB adapter will also be sold separately as a standalone item, and can be used on PC and Mac, so players can connect Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore to experience the same lossless and low latency audio.

Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore can simultaneously connect to a PlayStation Link supported device (PS5, PC, Mac, or PlayStation Portal) and a Bluetooth supported device. For example, Pulse Explore can be connected to PS5 (via the USB adapter) using PlayStation Link and also to a mobile phone through Bluetooth at the same time. While playing on PS5, gamers can instantly answer a call and hear it through the same Pulse Explore earbuds.

Why are we just getting random drops of hardware news? Kind of odd, just announce a couple of games and end it with this. Even PSVR2 got similar treatment without any showcase.

Not sure, just seems to be SIE's MO lately with these kind of things.
