Take on current affairs from former PS Europe president, to include Xbox having been better off announcing an electric car than Activision acquisition:

Official and confirmation of rik's previous post on July additions:

➕ Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
➕ Alan Wake Remastered
➕ Endling - Extinction is Forever

Heads-up for Essential/Premium Plus werewolves, that if interested in playing Cold War, it's available 4 July and needs 255 GB of free space. Chonk of an application file. There's an option being pushed just before availability, however, to uninstall packages depending on what you want to experience (MP versus campaign, for example), so expect that drive space requirement to be more flexible if not wanting everything.

Scorn finally release on PS later this year (Q4, probably around October for its 1yr anniversary)

What they need to do is allow users to uninstall Warzone. Fucking bastards. I actually like Cold Wars multiplayer more than Modern Warfare but I couldn’t justify keeping that game installed with Diablo IV and soon Armored Core IV coming out.

Hear you. Starting next month for me, there's an exciting game coming out every month through until 2024. Fires of Rubicon, Remnant II, Lords of the Fallen and on. I want to play CW campaign too and who knows what's pipelined for Plus catalogue in that time.

Yea it's been a really good year for gamers.

Yeah the rest of the year is fucking crazy, lots of stuff I’m interested in:

-Pikmin 4
-Quake 2 Remastered (I really hope this gets a PS4/5 release so I can play with my brother and my friends)
-Armoured Core VI
-Starfield (on my Series X)
-Baldur’s Gate 3
-Mario Wonder
-Spider-Man 2

Downloaded last night Alan Wake for replay (thinking about AWII preorder to support Thomas and Remedy) plus Cold War. Never played CW so excited to play campaign this weekend. I actually platted Modern Warfare 2019 but didn't bother with MWII outside of some fun Golds and Silvers (Golds are hot); am open to committing to Sony pearl for CW if gameplay clicks but not traditionally a big Trey cat.

Something I'm disappointed in are Game Trials. I like the streaming I get with Premium to test-drive games before install (as well as jumping in and out of older, arcadey titles like Super Stardust) but the other Premium benefit of Trials have proven little return for me.

I guess I was wrong to think today's publishers want demos available for their games; seems like such a good idea on paper with trophy carryover if you decide to buy. The feature is now one year old and pitifully few additions have been made – a single digit, if I'm not mistaken.

52 in total i think is the current total so far

Sony also looking to Korea for nurturing of new developer relationships:

Thanks. Available games are anaemic AF, unfortunately.

Its probably one of those things where you have to go into the store for the title and click on the 3 dots like you have to for PS4 or PS5 versions of games

FFXVI patch v1.03 pushed. Fixes official here and are:
  • Adds the following items to the System tab of the Main Menu:
    • Motion Blur Strength
Allows the player to adjust the strength of the motion blur effect when the character or camera is in motion. The default setting is the maximum of 5. This can be lowered to reduce the strength of the motion blur effect, or set to 0 to turn it off completely.
    • Player Follow (Movement)
    • Player Follow (Attack)
Turning these settings off prevents the camera from automatically following the player while moving and attacking respectively.
  • Changes the maximum setting of the Camera Sensitivity (Horizontal) and Camera Sensitivity (Vertical) items from 10 to 20.
  • Adds three new controller layouts: types D, E, and F.
  • Corrects an issue that affected the stability of some menus.
  • Corrects some text issues.
  • Adds the hashtag #FF16 when sharing screenshots or video clips on Twitter or YouTube.

Enjoying Cold War campaign. Protag (Adler) reminds me a lot of Robert Redford in both speech and mannerisms; might just be me though. Series mandatory chopper sequence in early game is rad. Infinity Ward polish isn’t here but given Trey rushing this, it’s fun. I appreciated their licensing some real music of the time for authenticity like in opening bar scene.

The Ronald Reagan scene was done incredibly well and stole the cinematic spotlight so far.

The hit marker mix is super meaty which I didn’t like at first because even plainclothes foe sound like they’re wearing fat Kevlar stacks, but it’s grown on me and sounds better without headphones.

Helldivers 2 co-op combat and competitive gameplay details emerging including a bulldozer of an auto-Gatling turret. Full read here from PS.Blog team (trailer there: 3m 15s) but some highlights are:
  • Your greatest aids as a Helldiver are stratagems: powerful tools that can be summoned with short button combinations. Everything from airstrikes to Hellpods containing bigger, badder weapons to defensive gear and extra supplies are at your fingertips.
  • There’s not only cooperative combat, but you’ll have cooperative objectives to tackle with your team as well. You’ll be able to share locations with each other and move together across the map. You’ll also encounter optional objectives to complete, requiring a small detour with your teammates, and of course, requiring more ammunition. But you’ll be rewarded for your efforts.
