Multiplat Official DOOM ETERNAL Discussion

I really like the collectible toys, I kind of wish they sold them irl I would pick up a Pinky or a Cacodemon.
It looks like Bethesda has started selling the Doom Slayer toy for $30, and more are on the way!

Here's the in-game version for reference:

Some of the colors are slightly different (like on his mouth piece/gauntlets), but overall I think it looks pretty sweet.

Hopefully they'll do the entire demon lineup. I really wish they were priced around $15-20 instead, but I'd be lying if I were to say I don't plan on buying at least a few of them before it's all said and done.

Ok this game sucks dick. Final verdict. Its repetitive and boring. Doing the same fucking room with the same fucking enemies ad nauseam. And they give tons of hp back if you fail a glory kill which is retarded. I've been trying my best to finish this but its becoming a huge chore to play.
What games do you normally play that you find really enjoyable?

OK beat the part that was triggering me, it was the end of Nekravol 1 and I forgot the Doom Hunters had shields. Now I'm being triggered by the very next section because of shitty platforming mechanics, dropped inputs and random failed auto grappling. I want to play a shooter, not a Mario Maker level.

Must have merauder and khan makyr

OK was overthinking one of the jumps and beat the platform triggering part. Only to play ring around the rosy with a Marauder for 5 mins. Taking a break now.

Doing the portals and its just more shit game design. "Let's flood them with ridiculous amounts of enemies and then throw more cyber mancubus on top." Absolutely garbage that appeals to the second lowest denominator of gamer, only above CoD players.

Finished nightmare. Had an obnoxious amount of trouble with stage one of the Icon. Wasn't too bad once I stopped trying to overthink things and just went into a fugue of chainsawing and swinging the crucible.

Best game. 80s style savagery.
Go hard or go home.

yep that stage is like a gift of being able to use the best weapons with reckless abandon

Freeze the Cyber Mancubuses with an ice grenade, then Blood Punch them. The ice grenade ensures they can't pulverize you when you get up close, and the Blood Punch strips them of their armor, making them far easier to kill afterwards.

It's important to know how to approach each enemy/situation. Most enemies have a major weakness that you can exploit to make the encounter far easier. Another great example is Whiplashes (the snakelike creatures that move ridiculously fast and absorb quite a lot of damage). Normally they're a bitch to fight, but all you really have to do is switch to the Rocket Launcher and use the lock-on mod to effortlessly one-shot them with a trio of seeking rockets.

Yet another example is Prowlers (the Imp-looking fucks that teleport around). They're made comically easy by the Super Shotgun's Meathook. The hook completely freezes them in their tracks, preventing them from teleporting away, and a single point-blank shot from the SSG instantly kills them.

Even Marauders are made stupidly easy by the now-well-known SSG/Ballista combo.

OK call me lowest common denominator, I beat the part that was triggering me lmao

Bummer, obviously there are two sides to the story but sounds like some shitty and unprofessional behavior by Mick Gordon.

Mick caused logistical errors that put id at financial risk with his delays. When people noticed the difference Mick then took the route of saying he didnt have creative control.

Its a pitty for his work is needed in the modern Doom franchise. He just went a bit diva in this entire situation.

Can someone give cliffs on whatever’s going on between id and Gordon?

He apparently couldn't meet the crunch for final mixing on a large portion of the tracks for the game, and since Id was worrying they might have to delay the game, they gave the duties to the lead sound engineer apparently without telling Gordon.

Based on what I gathered from the Reddit post:
- Mick wasn't meeting his OST deadline(s) and kept wanting to push things back
- id Software, frustrated and out of options, ended up handing off most of the OST duties to Chad Mossholder, their internal audio engineer, so that the content could actually be delivered to the people (like me) who paid for it via the Collector's Edition
- Unbeknownst to id, Mick wasn't happy with the entire process and started running his mouth online
- Marty Stratton (Doom Eternal's executive producer) called Mick to see what was up, and Mick told him about his frustrations (which included the scope of the soundtrack, the edits made to his songs, and id's internal audio guy being credited for most of the tracks--note that Mick was actually the one credited as the composer on ALL of the tracks; id's audio guy was only ever listed as a contributing artist)
- According to Marty Stratton, id is in the process of "moving on" and will not be working with Mick on the current upcoming DLC

I just read up on it. Apparently it was just the OST. The music for the game was ready on time it seems.

Ah, they should've just delayed it, then.

Apparently they couldn’t because it was supposed to be included with the Collectors Edition of the game and in some countries there are consumer protection laws that entitle people to refunds if they don’t get the product they bought. It would seem there’s a one month grace period, so if the OST wasn’t available by April 20th (one month after the release of the game) people that bought the Collector’s Edition in those countries would be entitled to refunds.

Alright this has to be the worst platform section in the game. Getting the 3rd portal or whatever and you have to shoot mid air before landing on a ledge
